I know it'll not happen (and rightly), but I'd love someone from the Co-op to say "we can confirm that it actually looks like him, and isn't shit." I know she's a great sculptor with a track record, but I've seen too many godawful statues to rest easy. I'll see it after it's up, obviously, but much as I'd love to be there for the unveiling, I can't run the risk of cringing myself inside out if the curtain is pulled off and it looks like Sid James. You're right to say Hannah Stewart is a great sculptor with a track record. This is a link to her website - www.hannahstewartsculpture.co.uk/, you can see how impressive her work and client list is. I believe she's just been commissioned by Oxford University for her next work. We've worked very closely with the family to ensure that the statue is absolutely spot on and they have been to view the final clay and are very happy. The Co-op have also involved a number of County artists, Co-op members and County fans and they have all been very impressed. Everyone is going to have their own view and interpretation, as is the case with artwork. Just hope that everyone likes the end result and that we have honoured Danny properly! What I can definitely tell you is that the statue looks nothing like the Ronaldo abomination! Brilliant work DH, I went to the presentation that Hannah did and her work is very impressive.

When does the fundraising for the Gannon statue start? Might have to count without Mark Stott chipping in for that one

When does the fundraising for the Gannon statue start? I'm definitely not getting involved in fundraising for anymore statues! Lol

Did the funding for the lighting hit its target? If so will this also be in place? Still a bit to go yet Roman, but we aren't too far away. Last minute costs for the ground work, unveiling curtains, lights, etc The unveiling will still go ahead, but the Co-op will continue to run some initiatives like Make Us an Offer after the event, so we can cover the shortfall.

We still need to raise around £3000, so there will be more fund raisers. The Club are paying the late bills on the understanding that we are to pay them back which we are in no doubt we can do. Our fund raisers thanks to excellent support from the County Family have been good to great , so we aim to clear the outstandings as soon as we can.

Statue is in place now but nicely covered up ahead of the big reveal. Going to be a great tribute to the Man from Uruguay.

‘ He was the first foreign manager ever to lead an English club out at the national stadium.’ Not quite true. First foreign manager born overseas, I think. Sure there was someone (possibly at Rochdale) who was the first foreign manager at Wembley a few years prior to Danny.

Yeah, it might not be Rochdale and I’m getting my wires crossed with him being there. Not that it matters, but sure he was the first foreign born manager rather than first foreign manager. Will try and find something to back me up.

1989/90 Second Division play off final.
Ossie Ardiles was player manager for Swindon. Although he was born in Argentina too. So Bergara wasn’t the first foreign born or foreign manager, Ardiles was.
He even led them out, can see it and hear it on the commentary on this clip, so can’t even say he was the first to ‘lead a team out’.
Weird that it’s become such an accepted thing about Danny when it’s just not true!
