Danny’s statue looks great, perfect pose and perfectly executed by a clearly talented sculptor; brilliant work from all involved ⚽️💙

The best likeness of a person I’ve seen on a statue bar none. Absolutely superb.
I felt a bit sad for Danny’s family that Glen Taylor got a bigger cheer.

I think it looks great. I just hope he can get a more prominent position when the stadium redevelopment is complete. He needs to be on a much higher plinth eventually, hopefully with steps going up to it. I made this point several months ago on the EP redevelopment thread; the statue needs building into the redesigned EP, not just something that’s put somewhere where there’s a space. In the short term, it needs something as simple as a white circle painting around it, the faded yellow markings are not appropriate. Congratulations to everyone involved this morning: 15 minutes was just right; well done to Bellis et al, and it was good to have the Uruguayan ambassador here, and I’m sure the club looked after him well - building friendships is important. th8s morning; 15 minutes was just right,

Is anyone from the club/coop going to be cleaning the statue/stand? because I've seen multiple photos of people standing on the stand and their seems to be quite a few footprints on it which imo is quite disrespectful

Of course people are going to touch it and pose with it. We’ve never had anything like that before ever. And of course it’ll be looked after.
It’s great. Fair play that it was done independently too. It took a while, but it is clearly well worth it. Maybe when the ground is updated moving it might be an option, but not necessary. It’s in a good spot and secure too. Let’s enjoy it.
And look to doing a Big Kev one next.

Danny was an engaging person and we wanted to represent that. We didn't want to place him on a 5ft high plinth out of reach, like Alex Ferguson. The stone will be treated, to ensure that it stays in the best possible condition.

As a supporter since 1982, I found it all quite emotional. He was the man who made supporting County cool and earned us a lot of respect from around the country. That statue does him proud. A proper legend in every sense of the word.

Looks even better in real life. The sculptor has done an amazing job. It really does, it's spot on! Cannot agree more. The photo,s do not give it the justice it deserves. Unlike many paintings and statues it gets even better the closer you get. Makes some of those waxworks ones look really crap. Missed the unveiling and was surprised by the numbers coming away from it in not the best of weathers.

As a supporter since 1982, I found it all quite emotional. He was the man who made supporting County cool and earned us a lot of respect from around the country. That statue does him proud. A proper legend in every sense of the word. I went along to the unveiling, but pre-date you by 15 years as my first game was 1967, so have - apart from a couple of years after the ‘67 title-winning season - rather more utter dross to remember in front of 1000+ gates than you have (apart from the occasional league cup exploit). That Danny (plus Brendan) ended this perennial awfulness almost from the start meant the statue unveiling brought a lump to my throat; don’t think of all the managers since Jimmy Meadows in 66/67, to Dave Challinor today, I’ve ever been more proud of a County manager than Danny. Just hope us oldies can pass on to the youngsters even a hint of the magic Danny brought to County, something that really was unique. Theres just one statue at EP, and it’s the right one.
