Just wonder how fans would want the side to play in tomorrows game if it was the other way round and we had nothing to play for. Go out with a big bang, make it harder than normal for the opposition or just go through the motions. For me it would be just a normal performance with any shackles taken off and just seeing how it turned out in the end. A 4-3 type of win would be great.

I was speaking to a Tranmere fan at work the other day. Doesn’t rate the (returning?) manager. Didn’t really go into it in detail as he isn’t mega into football, but I was getting Neil Young vibes so perhaps expect something like an Andy Robinson moment…

Like every professional side, we’d go out to try and win the game. Sometimes you’re not good enough and sometimes you are. Nobody is going out in any game tomorrow to not try.

I can't see any team, professional or not, not to try to give their own fans a decent performance in their final home game of the season. I'd hate to think we'd just roll over and die if the boot was on the other foot.

The biggest shock in the next few days will be that there isn,t a shock or surprise result happening somewhere in the lower divisions. Games where fans will say things like if we had performed like that all season we,d have been up there and the complete opposite. Most teams also will have many players playing their last games for a club and have sorted verbally with another and glad they are out of the place. The possibilities are endless and we,ll just have to wait and see.

Could understand them taking their foot off the gas if they were a team of 'old has beens', but they've brought a number of young players into the first team this season from their youth setup, mainly through necessity, & one or two are starting to get noticed

If I was a Tranmere fan I'd probably prefer County to stay down as it's far easier to get to for them and all things being equal we'd take more to Tranmere so there'd be two better games to look forward to, however on the day you always want your team to win, you want to go home feeling good about your own team and you certainly don't want to see opposition fans celebrating at your ground.

If we were Tranmere fans, then we wouldn't want Northampton fans breaking our crossbar.

They'll roll over tomorrow. They won’t, but they could lose a game of football. No professional side will be rolling over but they’re not a particularly good side.

Listened to a cobblers podcast earlier, and they had a Tranmere fan on. He said he'd prefer County to go up for a) sentiment towards Challinor and Hill and b) County would be more likely to take up an automatic spot next season over Northampton.

And that's the pre match team talk done for Northampton! 'Listen lads, Tranmere also want to win today. One of their fans said so on a podcast.' Pretty rousing stuff. We're clearly doomed.
