I get the "Wembley mystique" argument. Going to the old place was amazing, especially the first time, even given the crappy sightlines for many seats. But the new ground, as Mozzer has pointed out, really has nothing going for it. The arch? Okay, maybe. Capacity? Not relevant to us. The location's crap, and it's the only the third best stadium in London anyway. For many reasons, Wembley's never going to have the aura the old place had. But on the other hand there’s an entire generation of county fans who have grown up post 08, who’ve never been. And it probably does appeal to them to go and see County there.

Just watched Challinor’s post-match. A handful of misquotes of him firing around yesterday which is odd, but I think he absolutely nails what we lacked yesterday and what we need next week: whether we go through or go out, we’ve got to have a go, be expansive and see what happens. I’d much rather we give it our best shot, even if that means losing, than putting in a meek whimper of a performance a la 2018 or 2021.

If you're of a certain generation I agree, but if you never knew much / anything of the old Wembley, I think there is a mystique there about it - it's the stadium you see the FA Cup Final, England games, Euro Finals (Men and Women) played at. You're also more used to modern stadia being more of the norm, rather than old / dilapidated grounds.

I'd take Wembley though over Hillsborough / Villa Park, neither of which would be that much more convenient and don't come with the same appeal / fanfare as a trip to Wembley (with the additional option of making a weekend in London out of it). I take the point of rattling around in there, but I'm sure if we play Carlisle or Barford and it's 3/4 full then it will be a great occasion. Doubt it would feel a 'crap ground in North London' (like the Rochdale game maybe did, which I assume is where some the Wembley negativity comes from from). It's a rubbish place to get to. It all depends where you're starting from, of course, but if you're from up this neck of the woods and Hillsborough (or Elland Road) or Villa Park are no more convenient, I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about. Wembley lost its mystique a long time ago. The towers have gone, the ground can't hold atmosphere, and I've seen games at what was the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff where it was magnitudes better in every regard (aside from the fact County weren't there). Wembley's a shit big ground and it needs saying. Also, we went to the old Wembley and were outnumbered significantly for 3 of the 4 occasions. That didn't help us enjoy the day at all. Feel exactly the same about it losing it's mystique, there's nothing special or romantic about the new Wembley, it's a better stadium per se than the old one but I didn't get the same buzz in 08/09 on the approach to it as I did at the old one & seeing those twin towers. It's just happens to be the biggest football ground in the country & that's all. Technically it's still 'the home of football' but the over spend on building it & the fact the fans are expected to pay for the F.A.'s incompetence for what seems like forevermore & the fact teams have to pay to play there for play off finals leaves a bad taste.

We don’t have a player in this squad who is both capable and fit enough to do that, and we don’t have a manager who operates that way either; we play shit boring predictable football What we are good at, what we get results with is aggressive front foot high pressing and crosses into the box; we need Rydel on the pitch and Camps off it to play that way, hopefully that is what we will get next weekend

Spurs and Arsenal are better versions of a big new bowl and Stamford Bridge has all the character of a big old ground. They're obviously not better in terms of facilities and all that but I'd rather be at Loftus Road or Craven Cottage too. Yeah, me too. But judging it on the accepted criteria for big grounds hosting major games - size, facilities, view, etc, I'd say it was 3rd behind Spurs and Arsenal. But less character than Charlton.

Can’t believe it’s nearly midday and they’ve still not announced the ticket details for Sat. Carlisle, Bradford and Salford all announced their info yesterday. Poor show really.

Considering all tickets are going to have to be collected as well, it's cutting it fine and meaning fans are going to have to plan trips to EP to collect tickets. I can't believe none of this was planned before the game yesterday. Surely it's just a case of confirming allocation, adding that number into a prepared press release and putting the tickets on? I know we'd need to have the tickets in hand to sell them, but we can still confirm on sale times without them.

My number one memory, football wise, was the win in 2008 but my other memory was the weather that day, it absolutely p*ssed down and the coach arrived there late as we had a problem with the wipers, we missed all the pre match entertainment and a new coach had to be sent for for our journey home.

shouldn't take long to administer 500 tickets really imagine be confirmed at midday infact wouldn't be surprised see a scheduled tweet in matter of mins at midday when home tickets go on sale today at that time
The allocation of 500 is confirmed from what I've heard behind scenes, so goin to be carnage and lots disappointed
Then imagine be on sale 10am tomorrow as usual
