I felt the same. He basically said it’s not happening for the foreseeable. Or even worse, it could be preparing us for the old "it's not economically viable and we could build a whole new ground with great motorway access and state of the art facilities for less" I hope I'm wrong and the money spent so far on EP is reassuring but I'm getting bad vibes. I think it’s more about the costs involved and making sure that in at least some way the spend is justified. The stadium is in need of an upgrade but it’s easy for us to spend someone else’s money initially. Let’s also not forget that plenty of people are already concerned about the level of debt/funding that Stott has ploughed in, adding £20m+ to that would take some managing. Hope it starts soon though 😀

Has anybody failed to get into EP due to not being able to buy a ticket. Yes. The whole family usually comes along for the final home game of the season, but I couldn’t get enough tickets sat together this year so we had to Sky it. Although I’m sure if I’d not been busy with work when the tickets first went in general sale, it wouldn’t have been a problem.

They are not stupid and know the statement will be listened to, disected word for word and fans speaking about it. They might then make some conclusions from the feelings of fans on the whole subject. A bit like taking a survey without the need of paying for it.

I remember there were some who were cynical about the Cheadle End and it’s size, I think it’s proved to be a masterstroke of the Elwood era. If we build a decent Railway End and extend or improve the DB stand it will be there for future generations and a tangible lasting testament to the Stott era. The infrastructure makes the club attractive to players, future investors and possibly most importantly, impressionable youngsters from Stockport who may be deciding who to support. The money sounds frightening to us but perhaps not so much to Mark Stott who is used to creating large building projects. It sounds like the club might be waiting for better conditions, not sure when that will be with the disaster of Brexit, Ukraine etc.

Think many thought the same thing also. Doubt a new ground will make it harder for me coming to County unless it consists on a one way in one way out motorway access where you have to arrive early and depart early to avoid traffic jams. Its not nostalgia why i do not like any new grounds over the old ones its more about the positions of the new ones and having to be a captive audience for overpriced footy grub no matter what it standards are.

I think our attendances will actually plateau more by keeping things how they are- a new stand at the Railway would entice more to come IMO.
But I can obviously understand it if the costs are too high. We want to be sensible.

It does sound a hell of a lot of money and surely a half way house situation of leaving the main as it is but redevelop just the railway end alone would be a much cheaper an option that fans would be happy with.

Vita won’t be stopping property developments until building prices go down So this is all very strange.

Their costs must have gone up like everyone else's, building materials, transport and labour costs are all high now and so is the cost of borrowing. The cost just gets pushed further up the chain. Massive demand for student accommodation (in the example of Vita) Students will be the ones that bear the brunt of increased costs not Mark Stott
