I’m not a fan of this scheme, it looks like the kids are bored and knackered by the time the players actually come out and I suspect the positive feedback comes from the “oh they had an amazing time” parents
The Junior Football Clubs in the Popside last season were absolutely bouncing and there’s a family of four who sit near me (Mum’ a City Fan, Dad’s a ‘Footbal’ Fan and they can’t afford to take the whole family Emptihad) who are now crazy about County and that is entirely down to the free tickets they received

all that needs to happen when they come on the pitch is come out 5 minutes before the players do instead of the 20 that they actually do Come out before You are obviously right there and there’s no reason why it couldn’t continue in that way. My issue is the Club forced the Co-op to drop the Junior Football/Community Group Tickets in favour of the Flag Waving so instead… we are missing a trick I think we need to separate the Flag Bearer scheme and the Community Ticket initiative that is aimed at junior football clubs and community groups. The Co-op have focused on helping County develop the fan base over the past 5 to 6 seasons, but the Club is in a very different position to where we were in 2017 - 18. When the Co-op started talking to the Club about the Community Ticket initiative, County were averaging 3,500 and there were 6,500 empty seats, so it was clear to us that this situation needed to be addressed. At the time, the Club had started to turn the corner, Jim Gannon had returned, results were improving on the pitch and the toxic atmosphere of the McKnight years was fading. It was the right time to massively ramp up free tickets and County set the National League North attendance record against Spennymoor, with a crowd of 6,300. Between the schools initiative and community tickets, the Club and Co-op had distributed over 1,000 free tickets for this game alone. marketingstockport.co.uk/news/thousands-flock-to-edgeley-park-to-see-countys-record-breakers/ The Co-op would like to retain the community ticket scheme, but when the Club is regularly achieving attendances of 10,000+, it is understandable that they need to focus on paying supporters. The free ticket initiative for schools still continues and the Club distribute up to 300 tickets, depending on the game. We want to continue to support the Club grow County's fan base and providing nearly 500 youngsters with the opportunity to stand on the Edgeley Park pitch and welcome the players has to be an exciting experience for them. Whether the youngsters are there too long is something we can discuss with the Community Trust, but we understand that all participants enjoy their day and the slots for this scheme are all snapped up straight away! Maybe when the Club expand the capacity of Edgeley Park, there would be a good opportunity to re-open discussions, or maybe we can discuss targeting some mid week games early in the season, which don't sell out? In the meantime, the Co-op want to help the Club and Community Trust develop our fan base, which is why we have sponsored the Flag Bearer scheme.

They're out way too early and are buggered by the time the players come out. We've mentioned it loads of times this season.

Community Ticket and Match Day Flag Bearer Update Building County’s supporter base has been a key objective for the Supporter’s Co-operative, and we have worked closely with the Club over the past 5 seasons. In 2018/19 we launched the Community Ticket Initiative, which coincided very well with County’s successful promotion push from the National League North. Between 2018 to 2023, the Community Ticket scheme has enabled the Co-op and the Club to invite over 6,800 youngsters and their families, 111 junior football clubs and 35 community groups to watch a live game at Edgeley Park, free of charge. The scheme ended last season, but 427 tickets remained, which the Club has kindly honoured for this season (2022-23). This has allowed a further 12 junior football clubs and 1 community group to enjoy a Stockport County game. Match Day Flag Bearer Scheme For the 2022/23 season, the Supporter’s Co-operative sponsored the Match Day Flag Bearer programme, which is organised by the Community Trust. This sponsorship allows junior football clubs and community groups to bring a squad of 16 players to be flag bearers, welcome the teams onto the pitch and then cheer County on from the stands. Two complimentary tickets are also provided for the team managers to attend. The Junior Football club has their logo, website address and player’s names appearing in the match day programme and SCFC website. As part of this package, the Supporter’s Co-operative appear on the scoreboard before every home game and also at half time, providing our organisation with valuable brand exposure within Edgeley Park. We can report that this scheme has been a great success and was fully booked from the start of the season! 26 junior football clubs and 1 community group have benefitted, including Marple Athletic, Congleton Town, Reddish Vulcans, Poynton, Cheadle & Gatley U14s, Rose Hill, Woodley Albion, Hazel Grove, Stockport Dynamoes, Hillgate Boys, Adswood United, Warren Wood Primary, Reddish North End, Girlguiding Stockport, Richmond Rovers, FC Bluestar, Offerton Park, Bramhall North 75, Inter Cheadle South, Stockport Dynamoes Yellow, JFC Phoenix Inferno, New Mills JFC, Hillgate Boys, Hazel Grove United and Queensgate FC. This is truly a fantastic experience for the 16 youngsters that take part on a match day and one we are sure will live long in the memory. The Co-op are very pleased to see such impressive attendances at Edgeley Park for our first season back in the Football League. The Club has averaged 9,108, which is higher than our first season in the Championship back in the 1998 – 99 season! This is due to a combination of work by the Club and the Community Trust in schools, initiatives like the Community Ticket and Flag Bearer scheme and the investment and positivity that Mark Stott has brought to the Club. To help the Co-op sponsor initiatives like the Match Day Flag Bearer, please join us. The price is £12 for adults, £3 for 16 to 25 year olds and just £1 for under 16’s. www.countysupporterscoop.co.uk/join-today
