My kids wanted to go by train but not an option so compromise is drive to Northampton as coming from disley and train from there to break it up. Saves me from about 3hours of are we there yet in total.

Anyone driving who isn't sorted yet - just booked a space 20 mins walk from the stadium for a tenner. Tesco Extra too, so pretty safe and monitored: tinyurl.com/mryep29kAlso, it's literally next to the North Circular for a decent getaway. Booked !! Yellowboard meet-up before or after Dave??

Depends how busy it is. There will be a capacity limit. If you haven’t got a seat reservation they could turn you away but it would have to be absolutely at capacity for that to happen. Capacity trains! You're joking aren't you! I once got a 2 car pacer home when yorkshire cc were playing Lancashire cc at headingley in a 20 over game. There was no limit other than the physicalnumber you could squeeze in. I used to commute tpe and there was no limit about Capacity, the 16.55 from Leeds to Manchester was notorious from Leeds to Huddersfield as you couldn't get anymore on at dewsbury. I've been on trains which have been rammed many times and the capacity is how many you get through the door. I've travelled on the cross country train from Ely, Cambs, to Stockport and back a couple of times in the last few months. Rammed isn't the word. One time the driver refused to leave Sheffield until some people got off because it wasn't safe, and trying to get on at Stockport because it was the last train that day, the guard just suggested I try to push my way on. Living in the South East, where the trains are often standing room only, I had assumed that was a bad as it gets - but clearly it's not quite as bad as in the northwest these days. Glad I don't have to travel from Stockport this weekend. I just have the minor inconvenience of engineering works meaning a bus service from Cambridge, so decided to drive for 20 mins to Huntingdon and get the train from there instead.

We’ve booked it too (thanks Henry Pratt). County taking over a suburban Tesco. Massive.

We have supposed to have improved things over the years. Well one thing that hasn,t is public transport and 60 years back this topic would not be on its 11th page. Remember the wembley railway specials back in the day when you just walked down to a railway station on the day, paid your money and got on. The only planning needed was finding the peparture time of the mode of transport you were using. Now Rommel and Monty would be proud of all this forward planning being done nowadays but with good reason.

Just to reassure you all, trains would still be screwing you over, even if you lived considerably closer to Wembley. No trains between Winchester and London on Sunday, so I’m getting up at roughly the same time as all of you Stockport-based folk to get a crowded National Express. Living the dream.

I've actually only been to Wembley once previously, and that was when I was a student in Wolverhampton, in the late 80s. Wolves played Burnley (yes, that bunch of b*stards, although I hadn't learnt to have any particular antithapy towards them at that point) in the Sherpa Van Trophy final (ie what is now Papa Johns; knockout for 3rd and 4th div.). 88000 in attendance, which reflected the success-starved status of both clubs. We travelled on a nonstop train there and back, I think it cost about a fiver (must have been cheap, if I could afford it on my meagre income back then!). 2-0 to Wolves by the way- with an ex-County man on the scoresheet in the shape of Andy Mutch.

If anybody is after two coach tickets I have an adult & under-16 for the Fingerpost as I now need to travel tomorrow.
I am sure Lou will let you upgrade for another £10 to make it an adult ticket on the day if you need another adult ticket!
£45 for the adult £35 for the under-16.

More nervous now than I was in the Burnley/Stoke/Peterborough/Port Vale "Pubs in Adswood" visits. About the same amount of nervous behaviour as 08 Wembley since I finished work tonight. Just watching vids from 96/97. listening to some top tunes from the era, drinking and watching what you lot are saying on here. C'MON COUNTY!
