Terrible idea (as would Celtic)

That was a unique situation with many contributing factors. 2,000 Rangers fans would be fine There'd be more than that from the NW alone, I know there'd be no appetite for it in Glasgow but I'd much prefer it to be at Ibrox.

They had 12,000 at Blackpool last summer, 10,000 were probably already on holiday though No trouble & Rangers fans praised for good behaviour & the atmosphere created . Would much prefer to play a game at Ibrox though, Bury had a pre-season game there before they went bump, think we'd take a decent number up there. Incidentally, spoke to a couple of Rangers lads in spoons before the Hartlepool game, good lads who'd driven down for the day to watch us.

Wrexham had a game there a couple years ago and they sold out the away end which isn't very big. There was just over 4k there.

Don’t want anything whatsoever to do with either of the Glasgow teams or anyone else defined by sectarian allegiances - and everything that goes with it.
That said, I don’t want to be playing an utterly inadequate Alty again the week before the season kicks off; Barrow a week later was hardly a surprise.

Would much rather have a couple of lower league teams to get us up and going (the usual) and then championship clubs will do.

I’m looking for madness akin to when we played Latvia and Athletic Bilbao (great days). Perhaps County v. Fluminense, with mattyovrio as the special half time guest. Would divide loyalties in my household, though!

Can't believe a game involving them or Celtic descended into sectarian chanting. Who would have thought it?
Seriously, they can f*ck off. No time for them and all that shit. It can stay up there, where most of the non-OF fans also have no time for either of them.

You're jumping to a lot of stereotypes. And ironically in the last 7 years of attending County games I've seen more fan incidents/disorder at Edgeley Park than Ibrox but let's not get involved in broad generalisations shall we!

You can try reading what I wrote where I directed it at both. And that I refer to sectarianism. Which aside from some children occasionally pretending they think that it's still a time from before they were born, you rarely hear at County. Or least I don't. You're free to try to suggest Rangers (and Celtic) don't come with an immense amount of negative, backwards baggage but most people aren't going to buy it. And for the avoidance of doubt, I am not saying all Rangers (or Celtic) fans are sectarian arseholes. I know they're not. I am saying those clubs attract them. As has already been noted by others in this thread.

Would much rather have a couple of lower league teams to get us up and going (the usual) and then championship clubs will do. Why? f*ck that. I'm bored of playing some nonsense B team or a Premier League teams under 23s, followed by a Clitheroe or Dog and Duck away. Granted I'd rather it at Ibrox but obviously no chance - hope the rumours are true.

Every club in the country will play teams lower than then normally local just to get some fitness in. Start pre season with the lower league clubs getting fitness and then championship for some quality. Even if we play rangers it might be there u21 and you don't want that as you say.
