Think it was the pre-season under Neil Young. Might even have been part of the Glenn Rule deal. It was. Me and the boys went.. Glenn Rule was the best player on the pitch. We have to be a league club… but there are the occasional things about non-league I will feel quite nostalgic about… from a safe distance.

Hamburg - away one summer, home the next would be great. People have mentioned good things about Hamburg as a place, never been and sounds like I'm missing out. It’s pretty grim to be honest. There are much nicer German cities (Cologne, Berlin, Munich).

You beat me to it mate, if the Irish flag nonsense was anything to go by imagine the reaction if Celtic was rumoured. By the way, County, if you're reading this get Hibs down here. I have family who follow them and I've been up there on a few occasions, always a good atmosphere. I can combine a family visit and the football without having to fork out for the train to Edinburgh. Cheers, thank you. Ah yes that notorious family friendly, welcoming Hibs away support....ffs! Both of you missed the point there, my post was tongue in cheek, half-serious. I know it wouldn't happen for the all the reasons that have been discussed in this thread.

Hibs are no more "anti-British" than say Liverpool. And away fans no worse than any other club. I've been to a few Hibs away games and never any notable trouble. You might see the odd Irish flag (the clue is in the name), which I'm sure would wind up the small number of Rangers 'fans' that we seem to attract, but you don't get any of the sectarian nonsense at Hibs games that you get with the big two in Scotland.

Worked for Lufty's there in the Nineties and can safely say it's nowt special. Nicer than Frankfurt but that's not saying much. Munich, Bremen, Dresden and Erfurt places I've worked in that are all 10 times better than Hamburg in my opinion. Rot Weiß Erfurt or Carl Zeiss Jena would both be great away games. Or TSV 1860 München in The Grünwalder Straße stadium.

Simple not true. That's what Hibs fans will tell you but growing up in Edinburgh, in reality, they are just as bad. And what you also do get is a far worse hooligan firm thrown into the mix as well. There would be far more issues with a Hibs support in Stockport than a Rangers one.

Best to just avoid them all isn't it.

My lad told me the other day he’s just not bothered about friendlies… and I agree… it’s hard enough organising the other 10 months of the year 😜
