I can't see the problems brinksy is having. You get the latest score in the header and if you click new it takes you straight to the newest quote since you last viewed the thread Big' I was just frustrated. Coming home late and quickly wanting the score and navigating around this new site still needs a bit of reading and getting used to. So I just sacked it for the old site and got it in a flash 2-1 and it quickly got better and better. The old site will be better for this sort of thing as it's fundamentally built around a news-flash layout rather than built and tailored around discussion and debate. It's the same way it's faster to find out breaking news headlines via Twitter or live score updates on SSN than waiting for The Guardian to report on it on their website. I'm not sure what can be done to make it easier to find out other than on match days making a large interactive box where the Yellowboard logo/header with the score there.

Personally I think that the board should be left open on match days for people to create new goal threads etc. in the same way as marions and then at the end of the day admin can just tidy them all away into one folder.
I've said before it's top for discussions this board but shite for match days. Team news, score updates and then interviews and highlights all in the same thread means you have to go scrolling through pages to find what you are after. I just want goal highlights and it's easier to get it off marions.
It's a new board here so not everything going to be perfect but we should be looking to improve what we can and if the consensus is game threads aren't working then it should be looked at IMO.

Agree with this. If Proboards has a sort of application which can scrape Twitter feeds; that way you could perhaps have a thread which is automatically pulling tweets from the match off the SCFC twitter feed. Another suggestion, though once again I've never managed a proboards before so it might not be possible is to create another folder [board] for Matchday, and give people inside that board privileges to edit posts. The Admins/moderators create a thread with one post in it and lock it. All members can then edit that post as soon as updates come in. It will retain that sort of 'news-flash' feel Marionsboard has without the need to crawl through numerous posts. That said it requires a lot of trust in people to use it correctly and not troll/abuse it (though I really couldn't see why people would) and it's a pretty complex situation which needs Proboards to be able to edit member privileges on a board by board basis rather than throughout the whole message board .

I don't think you can pull the tweets directly into posts. You might be able to if the API is set up/allows it but I doubt it. In theory though, that wouldn't be any different from me or you posting updates. You'd still have to keep going into the thread to read the updates. But you have to do that on marions too. You can only view subjects at a glance, to get the details you have to repeatedly click on individual posts. On here, you click on the thread once and you see everything. Of course some prefer the old style, some prefer the new one. It's personal preference.
That's what we've done with the match thread. Stranded is at home for 90% of games so can update the title as soon as one goes in. You don't need to go in the thread to find out the score, it's in the title.
If you do want to read more, click on the little yellow 'new' and you're taken to the most recent post.

From the BPA forum sums it up really:
"I was impressed with the Stockport support. Those fans have stayed remarkably loyal after such a dramatic decline, and they definitely provided the 12th man on the day".
