Apologies if a Marsden, but the Wimledon v MK Dons got me thinking.
See the poll

I've voted No.

Voted no but it would it would depend on the circumstances. Moving out of Stockport would be the big killer. There's MK fans who still insist they're the real Wimbledon but playing 80 miles away from their spiritual home is laughable, it would be like County folding & re-starting in Birmingham, an instant no-goer for me.

Even though I live in Brum, I wouldn't want that to happen!

No. In a franchise situation (which is now banned by FA and Football League rules) I’d support whatever Phoenix club came out of it.

I'd only support County moving out Stockport with 3 caveats -
1) It was an absolute last resort. 2) It was made very clear it was 100% temporary 3) Every effort was being made to move back to Stockport.

I can't remotely understand how and why it would be necessary. Stockport covers a pretty big area. No reason County would ever needs must move away.

I can't remotely understand how and why it would be necessary. Stockport covers a pretty big area. No reason County would ever needs must move away. I suppose in some sort of financial crisis, and complete mismanagement we ended up getting evicted from EP - and for whatever reason weren't allowed to use Stockport Town/Cheadle Town/Woodbank Park, etc... - the council didn't allow it on traffic or crowd safety grounds, the League or FA wouldn't allow it etc... In those specific cases where we were pretty much forced into leaving Stockport to have a ground to play at - be it ground share at Macclesfield or Hyde or Oldham or somewhere. Then I could understand and go along with it provided points B and C applied. A bit like Brighton ending up playing in Gillingham. But other than - testing the waters playing home games outside, sneakily moving us out, a permanent home outside Stockport, no matter how near (even Didsbury or Poynton) is an absolute no go and would see me joining the stampede towards "AFC Stockport County" and a groundshare in Cheadle or Woodley if required.

Even though I live in Brum, I wouldn't want that to happen! Same if we upsticks and moved closer to me in yorkshire. Prefer to drive all the way to EP rather than a walk to watch SC Keighley. Not saying i would not go but it would never feel the same.

It was bad enough playing 1 game at Macc!

It was bad enough playing 1 game at Macc! Yes, still class that as an away game like the sheff wed. cup game was in my eyes. Anything away from EP is an away fixture no matter how it happens.

Apologies if a Marsden, but the Wimledon v MK Dons got me thinking. See the poll Change=name, ground miles away, new strip (new identity?) It probably is a Marsden, as I guess it's been mentioned many times between the administration years, and upto Mark Stott taking control. It's probably unique to mention it since our promotion from the NLN.

Well up for this tbh, I know some would be opposed to it, but a change is as good as a rest, and would represent progress. Plenty of cheap land in east Lancs, and I’ve always thought we should give claret and blue a go.
