Feels like we're getting closer to the on-sale announcement for this game; next week possibly?

Feels like we're getting closer to the on-sale announcement for this game; next week possibly? Whenever they finish off the arrangements for the tickertape parade after the final whistle. But for whom…?

Just want to be the 1st to predict that this will be the longest match thread in the history of YB.
I'm going for 85 pages.

I just won't even try. It's a shit heap frankly, and the police always seem intent on marching you towards trouble.

I don't think i've ever been to Wrexham & not encountered some kind of trouble, it's always been one of those places where trouble isn't far away. I've not been for our last few visits due to ticket scarcity. My last visit was the 2-1 win under Jimbo in the NL (2019?) To be fair to the police that day ran a pretty tight operation pre-match without being overly aggressive, they were pretty amiable to be fair. They picked about 100 of us up who had arrived early doors at 10 am & kept us in a pub on Wrexham high st. They dispersed a few Wrexham who came for a look & allowed us to drink in there until about 2.30 before marching us to the ground, I remember there being a fence across the road as we got to the ground which kept the baying Welsh hoards at bay & everyone got in the ground without incident. After the game was the complete opposite, waiting for the coaches & mini buses behind the away section entrance there didn't seem to be a copper in sight & Wrexham were popping up out of bushes & trying to have a pop, I'd nipped to the Sainsbury's to get some cigs & came back to find my mate having a comical exchange with a couple of scruffy oiks who'd emerged from the undergrowth to offer him out to which he'd coolly replied 'why don't you just f@%k off back to Liverpool' this seemed to stop them in their tracks as they stood there protesting their Welshness Luckily a few police eventually arrived followed by our mini bus & we got out of there unscathed. It's not a pleasant place & I dread to think what it'll be like if either side needs something in that last game & misses out.

Was that this game...
Interesting little documentary of behind the scenes of policing a match. Also love how most of it was about County causing problems all season and Wrexham being cute fluffy bunnies, only at the end to admit all the problems on the day were caused by Wrexham fans with the exception of one us running onto the pitch celebrating our first goal.

Every time i have visited since i feel that trouble is just one overheard comment away and you can cut the atmosphere with a knife. Remember trying to buy a fanzine off a seller and he did everything possible to ignore me. A strange lot however you look at them and thats the original fans and not the new lot who,ll possibly be worse. I certainly would not dream of taking kids or wives or girlfriends with me to that place even if there is sod all on this game.

Yep that's the one. I was on a mini bus that had a few Hamburg lads on it. Felt very cosmopolitan travelling to another country to watch County with half of our bus speaking a different language Cracking atmosphere at the game & a great result. I've always enjoyed beating Wrexham even in the pre Disney days.

That was a great game, one of my favourite in recent years.
Minihan and Palmer scoring and one of the best saves I've ever seen live from Ben.

My then girlfriend, now wife's first ever County match! She's been to over 20 grounds with us since. There's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of us both going through the turnstiles somewhere in that video. I'm not taking her or the kids to this one though. It has the potential to be extremely moody, even by usual Wrexham away standards.

I do seem to recall some comedy at the train station one year, we saw some Chester lads as we were about to get off, next thing they start rolling around the Platform with a few Wrexham, we had initially thought they were there to greet us 🤣

Are we assuming this game (and all the final League 2 games) kicks off at 3pm?
The last couple of seasons they've all been moved to a 12:30 start (I know last season was a strange one due to the coronation bank holiday).
Maybe the clubs are waiting for a final decision on kick off time before making ticketing arrangements.

Sky will presumably want to show live games in both League 1 and 2 and likely not both Leagues at the same time? There is also a full Championship programme at 3pm that day, so possibly a 12.30, 5.15 or even a Sunday more likely??

I think this game will end up on TV with the whole programme not kicking off at 3pm. Hard to see a scenario where this isn't in the top two League Two games of interest with nothing riding on it.
