Away at Barnsley and (if memory serves) Crystal Palace we were 3-0 down and drew 3-3 around the turn of the millennium (2 or 3 years either side). Yes Palace. Just looked it up 8 April 2000, 3-0 down after 31 minutes, Moore pulled one back before halftime, then another from Moore and Cooper after the break. At Barnsley 28 December 2004. 3 down 2 minutes into the 2nd half, Feeney started the comeback on the hour mark, Lambert completed it on 81 minutes, with Barlow in between. Can’t believe it’s 20 years ago since that Barnsley game, I remember that game vividly not just for the result but when the coach got back to Edgeley mine and a few others had had their car broken into!

Bolton in the Championship as is, 3-0 up then heartbreak that we let it slip, 3-3 and there was only going to be one winner, to everyone’s surprise it was County thanks to Aaron Wilbraham, as Irene Cara once sang, ‘what a feeling!’. Had Bolton fans in front of us in the CE that day, they were well behaved until they equalised, they took the abuse fairly well considering when Alby bagged the 4th 🤣

One game at a time. Some had us POs at best 2 games ago. "Bottlers". We hadn't managed back to back wins (or an away win) in ages. Let's make it 3 on the bounce and see where it takes us. The table looks much brighter thanks to some big performances and kind results elsewhere but things change quickly in football. We've been relegation fodder, nailed on Champions, promotion bottlers all in one season for the ones who get carried away by the last result. Everything still to play for, nothing guaranteed - especially with our injuries. Just put everything into Wimbledon. Replying to myself anticipating - but what does one fan's mentality matter? Well, I think complacency crept into the whole supporter base a few months ago and you could feel it at EP. Rightly or wrongly, the expectation was that we would win and stroll to promotion. Then when things stopped going our way, there wasn't enough support from the stands imho. It can't always be the team who lifts us. Would it have made a difference? Probably not. Hands were tied with injuries and mistakes are made on the pitch (or the sideline). But who's to say? Let's do everything to ensure we stay top this time or at least always have it our hands. You're 1st post summed up every emotion I've been through this season & you're spot on in your follow up. During the 12 match winning run there was definitely & air of complacency amongst the support. Something I've never really experienced in my time as a County fan before. We seemed to be beating sides at a stroll but the atmosphere really took a dip as the run went on. Winning was becoming the norm & expected & was greeted with almost nonchalance. You're right again when things took a turn for the worse, many were too quick to get on the players backs instead of trying to offer support. I'll hold my hands up & admit frustration in certain games got the better of myself personally as well, I'm particularly disappointed with myself for walking out in anger at Tranmere when 3-0 down, I wasn't the only one (the Prenton pub filled up pretty quickly from that point) but I felt a bit of shame the day after, walking out in a tantrum because the team were having a bad day despite being in the top 3 for months on end really isn't befitting of being a County fan, especially when as a fan of a number of years I've endured far worse times following this club. We have a tendency to big our support up but personally I think this season we've dipped a bit. Too complacent when we put a decent run together, too quick to groan when things weren't going our way. It's definitely improved of late though ( & suedehead should like this) I think we're a better fan base when there's a bit of jeopardy involved. We were knocked off our perch but then started fighting back & the fans have responded to that. Salford away was a good example, 2-0 down & playing shite but I felt the support was still vocal & strong throughout & we were rewarded with that 2nd half comeback. I'm looking forward to Monday & hope we get behind the lads from the off & if things aren't going to plan keep getting behind them. This team will respond & ultimately we will prevail.

The Swindon 3-3 at EP was under Sammy Mac in 2004/05. Despite the comeback, that game was right up there with the worst performances in that terrible season. My mate left at 3 nil, this was at the time my return to pub setting was still 4 luckily 😁 Seem to a remember a bloke tearing up his season ticket up and throwing it on the pitch as we went 3-0 down 😂

That is, and always was, the key to our run in. The middle months of this season were an absolute slog and DC did some good and bad things in equal measure tactics wise. Could we be better off points wise? Possibly. Are we top with a game in hand though.. They ground out the points, stuck to the 'target' (I hope he shares that figure post season) and stayed in the game. I can genuinely say none of the remaining games really worry me. Some will be hard but it'll be wrapped by the Wrexham game whatever happens. We will have 22 players capable of starting for 80% of this division available in 2 weeks. Ain't no way we let this slip from here. We will be able to swap our whole midfield if we wanted as an example. The dream team of Croasdale, Collar and Sarce might not even start and its well known that we do not lose when they play together. One game at a time. Some had us POs at best 2 games ago. "Bottlers". I had a wobble after the Mansfield game but pretty much said we will be champions since Grimsby away!

I imagine Tanto will probably start. I'm sure him and RR were probably told that they'd have a start each over this weekend. We won 5-0 vs MK and changed it. Pre-kick off yesterday, I thought Kane for Knoyle, Sarcevic for Powell and Tanto for Richards, were nailed on for Monday with fitness in mind. But individual performances, the intensity of the game and early subs, has provided food for thought. I'd be very surprised (and annoyed) if Tanto doesn't start Monday though and hopefully Powell can manage it too. I wouldn't pick Sarcevic ahead of Powell on recent form. Though ike you I'd bring Tanto back.

Hopefully the intensity of FGR and early sub means Powell can start two in a row. DC hinted at similar in his post match without naming names. On current form, I'd pick CLE over Sarcevic but am happy either way!

Thanks and good post. I like the conclusion - we're not used to things going too well! Hoping it's the wake up call we needed. It can happen to anyone - look at Leicester. Ultimately the league is very unpredictable currently, ourselves included, so... one game at a time. Looks like nearly a sell out tomorrow and plenty to cheer about! Bring on the County!

Looks like a good crowd for Monday, their goal scorer was red carded today I'm not sure if he misses Monday. Apparently a soft red card so imagine they will appeal it, it won't be resolved before Monday so he'd be available It’s resolved and he's out, he's received a 3 match ban.

Myth v Reality
Jackson says he will be taking game to Stockport. We won’t be there to park the bus However this years away record of his team suggest otherwise Lowest scorers away from home in league same as Gillingham Rank #23 Least number of goals conceded away in league Rank #1 Full away record P20 Pts 26 F19 A19 W6 Rank#14 D8 Rank#2 L6 Rank#4 We are Rank#4 Home Goals scored and Rank #2 Home Goals conceeded
