Well I had told myself that I wouldn't go to County whilst Wiggy was still there, but my wife talked sense by saying that I was a fan of SCFC and that nobody should drive me away from something I have been doing the best part of 30yrs. So beer fest and football is the order of the day. That's if I can drag myself away from the bar

Although... Doesn't sound too promising to me still... Hopefully worded wrong, but could be the 8am inspection wasn't the match referee but the Groundsman/available referee's opinion.

We gave the new groundstaff a lot of stick the other week. They deserve credit today - that's a top effort to get the game on.

Despite the recent weather the pitch would still be in a much better condition if we had a proper groundsman, not the current arrangement. Last season it was perfectly fine all the time.
Even though it's on today it will still be caked in mud, bobbly, heavy, all that sort of thing and it's not going to be conducive to a possession based, tiki-taka style of game with two teams playing false nines. So in that sense it's a good job it's a Conference North game.

Frost, snow etc absolutely but rain? Come on. We hadn't had a game (excluding the damaged pitch of 08/09) called off due to water logging/rain since 1996 and we should give him credit for getting a game on after the disaster the other week? We were told by the cub they had got a groundsman cheaper who could do just as well. He should be judged by the standard set by the club when he/they were appointed. Does anybody actually know the situation of the groundsmen. I know it's JG groundcare but is that just one person's company who does the pitches or numerous ones? Surely its no good with pitch-care to have different people looking after the playing surface who will all have different ideas and approaches on how to approach it.

Indeed, it's only a matter of time before it catches on. United have tried a similar thing this season and are following our example quite well. Their goalie showed he's capable of following our 'give the opposition at least one cheap goal' ethos on Wednesday night as well.

Mr Jackson probably was wetting himself at the fact he pulled off such a coup and if he has fliers to push through the door probably reads Grounds Maintenance Contractor to Stockport County FC. Then again with the current state of the pitch and its sudden deterioration, maybe he wouldn't want to associate with such a cock up.

Rugby Pitch behind my house has puddles all over it currently. It's probably in better nick than EP judging by the pictures. Good luck those who have set off!
