I thought today was where roughly I thought we were going to be at the start of the season. Most players good enough for this league, some with potential, some with useful experience. Plenty to work on and some inconsistency and the odd position not quite right, all with a steady hand at the tiller. Instead of that we got "running through walls", Hand, Crainey and given the run around by Workington. Lord is Ray Matthias/Jimmy Meadows, not quite Danny ... but certainly good enough for where we are and the right man until whatever financial heartache round the corner hits us in the face. Pity he wasn't in charge at the end of last season, we would be above Hyde at least.

I think Lord's passion is rubbing off on the players. You can definitely see the difference in performances on the pitch since he took over. He seems as though he's got the players respect, something I think Bogie lacked.
With a bit more consistency and a couple of new additions in January and over the summer then we'll have the foundations of a team that could achieve something next season.

I would want 6 players, 2 CBs, 1 left sided midfield, 1 right sided midfield, 1 centre midfield and 1 forward strength in depth and competition

Strength in depth is exactly what we lack this season, especially when we've had a number of injuries at the same time. When Jevons was out we looked toothless in front of goal.

We dont have to wait until january to add players as no transfer window for us We do if we want to sign players contracted to teams in every league above us. I think I'm right.

He said it was because he was very limited trying to get local players in and competing on wages. Yet Lordy has managed to bring in Moses and Platt, as well as Gosset on loan. All of whom are a dramatic improvement on Crainey and Hand.
I think Bogie lost interest in County as soon as we were relegated. He clearly had no interest in commuting that far for a part time club.
The abuse he got off the fans was just the final straw.

Pity he wasn't in charge at the end of last season, we would be above Hyde at least. I wasn't one of those laying into Ian Bogie when he walked away. I thought resigning, in the circumstances, was actually quite a noble thing to do. On reflection though, Alan Lord is showing Ian Bogie up at the moment. With a couple of additions, he's turned the same side around from one which was heading for relegation to one which can at least compete. I think we'll continue to pull our hair out for the rest of this season. We'll drop stupid points and we'll lose some games in terrible fashion that we shouldn't lose. I wouldn't be surprised if we get dicked at weekend by the bottom side, because we are by our very nature going to be inconsistent. But at least we seem to be competitive now, and able to win games. I've not seen County for a few weeks now, since roughly Alan Lord's third game. I only missed one of Bogie's though from memory, and we were just awful at the start of the season. Now, looking on from afar, I've got a very delicate confidence that we can do ok. I think it's premature and possibly naive to be talking of the playoffs - we're 10 points behind and although that is more than do-able with 20-odd games left, it means we have to be consistently good. We were roughly 10 points from the playoffs in November last year when the board decided to pull the plug on supporting its management team, and we ended up going down. While I'm confident we will keep out of that this season, we need to be realistic. If we can make the top half and start with a solid basis next season, that will do. Let's remember this is a club that has been in relegation battles for five successive seasons, and you have to go back to ten years ago since we stayed out of either a promotion or relegation battle. That's a lot of turbulence. A bit of solidity wouldn't go amiss for me.

Bogie is a Grade A mard-arse IMO. Bought complete and utter sh1te and then the first signs of a bit of stick he did a runner. If he had left it there and then fair enough but no, he had to go spouting out a load of bull on the radio where IIRC he contradicted himself 2 or 3 times.
