Friday 15 April 2016 was a red letter day for the Stockport County Supporters Cooperative as, after many months of trying to resolve a seemingly insoluble set of issues concerning the in house membership system, last Friday saw us launch our new membership system via Web Collect.
The system is now up and running , and we are inviting members to seek it out , update their details where appropriate, and renew membership if that is necessary ,via

Supporters with no access to the internet , who pay offline, can continue to do so, renewing via any Coop Board Member or at the Cabin in the Cheadle End Car Park prior to the Curzon Ashton game, and any questions for online users can be directed to membership@countysupporterscoop.co.uk.
We are also inviting supporters who have not yet decided to join us to consider doing so.
Consider…..the Supporters Cooperative has in a few short years has
# obtained Asset of Community Value status for Edgeley Park that prevents, and has prevented ,the stadium being sold without the community, in the shape of the Club and the Supporters Cooperative, being consulted.
# through our regular contact with the Board of Stockport County , and our presence at Club Board Meetings we are able to voice the concerns of supporters on a regular basis. In this respect we have recently met and discussed with the Club, fans concerns on issues including Catering and Stewarding , and the results of our contacts with the Club are regularly passed on to our membership.
# we were able to work closely with the Club and support their successful negotiations to secure the transfer of ownership of Edgeley Park from its previous owners to the Stockport Council.
# We have worked with Help the Hatters and by so doing ,for the first time, been able to gain a shareholding in the Club via the Players Fund, whilst at the same time supporting the Club Board in their efforts to reduce shareholder debt, efforts which are making significant progress!
We see it as vital to ensure the Club attains a situation where it is debt free in the future, and that the Supporters via the Supporters Cooperative play a real role in that future in which Edgeley Park is never again used as collateral for deals that ultimately saddle us with debt!
To this end we have established the Guardian Account in order to provide supporters with the means to build up a significant collectively owned sum to empower supporters and give them a real influence in the Clubs future.
As a consequence we run many events, and you can be assured that whether it is a Quiz…..or a Half Marathon with a growing reputation for excellence, any moneys raised in these events will be used to boost the Guardian Account , which recently topped £18000 for the first time.
Much important work to be done then….but the bright future we all desire for Stockport
County and its supporters, can only come about if we stick together and work hard to achieve this.
The Supporters Cooperative is resolved to do just that- if you are member....thank you for your continued support.......if you are not already a member.... please join us….help us make it so!
