Speaking as a travel agent re:refunds etc. For flight bookings, Airlines have to give your money back under IATA regulations if they cancel your flight - most of them are only offering credit notes initially, but if you push it, you’ll get a cash refund, it just might take a while. If they are still operating your flight, you have no automatic right to a refund if you don’t want to travel, but may be able to claim through travel insurance if the FCO is advising against travel. For package holidays, most tour operators are offering ‘refund credit notes’ - these are essentially vouchers that can be exchanged for cash at a named future date. Essentially, this buys the tour operator time to get money back from their suppliers before refunding clients, and hopefully means they won’t go bust in the meantime. For hotel only bookings, you are basically at the goodwill of the supplier - most are allowing rebooking, even for non refundable rates. It's difficult to take your advice seriously with GT Law under your name! 😂

We were originally spending a couple of weeks in the Lakes with family but that got cancelled, so we're spending the whole summer in Basingstoke. Lucky me!

Greenacres ?? Black Rock Sands is our go to place in the motorhome. There's nothing better than just driving onto the beach and pitching up. But only in winter mind...then we can stay overnight without the local beach Gestapo coming after us. Yes, Greenacres. We've been going for years as the accomodation is free for us, not too far and there are loads of good places to visit around there. Looking forward to it even more now I know I won't be dragged to see the Seaside Squad 😁 I love the beach early in the morning or in the late summer evenings. I'm hoping it will be quieter without all of the facilities, but I suspect that the lack of holidays abroad will see it being as busy as ever. I like Greenacres. I usually whack the van on there if I spend a week at Black Rock. Expensive way to dump my waste and re-fill my water but I've one of those privilege passes (courtesy of a client of mine who owns a home there). I always enjoy it.

Was going to be two weeks in Singapore but, now that's well and truly off the table, Mrs HNR is retiring from work in September and we'd always promised ourselves a long UK holiday once she did that. Now to get to work on coercing her to make it some time before the end of next season.

I'm not into foreign holidays, and love staying in this country for one reason or another. Got holidays booked in Scarborough, South Wales and also a break near Morecambe... probably wont be going on any, but not arsed anyway, as I will love a good week of days out in the countryside during a week off work. Anyway, what are your plans for holidays this year? Was supposed to be going to Colombia for the Copa America next month. Been rearranged for next year. Hawaii in December, fingers crossed that still goes ahead as planned.

I moved to Belgium a day before lockdown, so even though France is 20 minutes away, I'm unable to visit anywhere.
I'd just be happy with a day out to Ypres, Bastogne, for now! Though, least the weather's better here than the UK and my house as a large garden, so we're surviving without a holiday this year.

Got to Phuket, just before all this kicked off. Best holiday I've ever been on - such a beautiful place.
If we'd gone a week later think we would have had to cut our holiday short.
Will probably get away to the Lakes or Northumberland if we can late September.

the 2020 deep recession starting and millions losing their income and many their homes will mean affording holidays for most people will be a distant memory.Very depressing times are guarnteed around the world unfortunately so stay at home if you still have one will probably be the order of the day for the next year or so.But for those on here who are fortunate enough to avoid these personal hardships they will find bargains Im sure.
