I've not posted much on here yet but been following the discussions. I think this place is so much easier to navigate and use, the main reason being what others have mentioned about threads being linear rather than conversations breaking out all over the place meaning you have to remember which bit you were involved in/interested in... Which could take minutes of scrolling up and down stuff you'd already read, by the time you got where you wanted the conversation could have moved on, especially busy times like Saturday nights. None of that here.. but the quoting thing means you can still refer back to stuff said earlier on in the thread so the feeling of a freeflowing conversation with lots of engaged participants is still there.
Also it seems like here it's easier to link to/reference web content from elsewhere eg from social media or COWS or whatever.. which was a bit of a palarver at the other place compared to how easily we are used to being able to do stuff like that if we use things like Twitter or WhatsApp or just send texts on smartphones.
So yes- very much liking this format, think it does all that the old place does and more.
Most of all though I hope we end up in ONE place where posters old and new are happy to associate in .. a real shame if we end up in two camps and a lot would be lost. Eg if I chose to stay here or be mostly here (and realistically, the time to flit between boards is limited so I'd likely end up as a regular in one), then there would be posters I'd miss- MattyovRio being just one example. Ultimately it's the fans who make the club... and the posters who make the board.

Of course Scarf, you have given it a go and that is all we asked, I thought this would have been easier for you to read.... we tried bigger text on the other board but it just annoys the majority. All about opinions but on the other board if someone replies above your initial reply you look like you are talking to yourself! also the ability to post on multiple devices and the board realising that you have already read xyz is pretty cool. Don't worry about the chaps who will be turning up shortly to pick you up, our re-programming centre is quite like Center Parcs (well it's indoors and there will be water) Probably didn't explain myself properly. This board is *better* technically in terms of features and any other way you can think about it on paper, but I prefer the other one simply because it's my online 'home' - in the same way that a new stadium is probably better technically than EP, but EP is 'home' and a new ground wouldn't be. Or that technically Steve Reich is better than the Stone Roses, but I'd definitely rather listen to the Roses. If everyone decides to move over here permanently then that's fine - I'll definitely still come on here etc - I just prefer the experience of going on Marions, given the choice. Only thing I'd say about the whole thing is that I've found the complete dismissal (by several people who should know better) of long-term posters quite disappointing. If the posters make the board, it's sad to see several comments in recent days saying things like (I'm paraphrasing) 'it doesn't matter that x or y poster hasn't come over, cos we've got loads of new posters here.' Actually, we're talking about valued members of our community here, not just on YB but in the County community generally - who have volunteered for loads of things over the years. I just feel like they deserve a bit more respect than being dismissed as 'closed minded' or 'throwing their toys out of the pram' etc. Some of the comments against this new board have similarly been OTT, but I just want to provide a bit of - respectful - balance to proceedings. I'm with you on this Scarf (that should worry you), technically this board is superior, but technical superiority doesnt mean its better, it means its different, there's no place like home as they say

My old, mum would say "you're cutting your nose off to spite your face". Some arent ignoring it because of the format Martin, they are ignoring it because of the way it has all been handled, and I would take a guess that if Suede and TRE got the chance to do it again they would handle it very differently, well I hope so anyway..

This experiment has taught me that I've had enough of the other board. I might go back on it if the mood takes me or if everyone leaves here, but I've realised it's just not very good as a format and going back feels like trading downwards. (Some of you may be happy to regard this conclusion as another benefit of the old board.)
Each to their own though, isn't it?

You can’t help yourself can you, reckless? If people are really ignoring it because we temporarily closed Marion’s and then had to shift the start time a couple of hours early then f*ck me, that says more about them than me or TRE. I really do find it baffling and incomprehensible that this is still bouncing around two weeks later. Actually I don’t, because it’s been a clear tactic from some to disrupt this board with petty arguments from day one. Even the blindest/most stupid person on the board can see that. Pathetic. Actually real adult men taking the time to antagonise. People setting up snide email addresses to send us abuse, to register new email accounts with different usernames than they use on Marion’s to think they can come on here and spout shit. I’ve always thought we’ve had a few oddballs in our support but the past month has really shone a light on them. There’s plenty like scarf who have come on, had a go at getting stuck in, appreciated some of the new features but decided it’s not for them. Not a problem with that. But the likes of you who, Cyprus Hatter etc who haven’t contributed anything other than whining, slagging the board and continually asking questions like your some sort of select committee have added nothing. If you’ve got nothing constructive or useful to add, why are you here? For clarity, we wouldn’t do anything differently but thanks for your patronising input.

(Some of you may be happy to regard this conclusion as another benefit of the old board.) Each to their own though, isn't it? I think this is genuinely the first time since I started posting on MMMB about 20 years ago that you and I have had a different viewpoint! And probably the first time Mike and I have had the same opinion! I don't even think one board is superior to the other - I like them both, and will post on whichever ends up being the main board (though I'm really hoping over time there is just the one - I don't have time to look at 2!). I just reckon they're good at different things, and, sentimental old sod that I am, that means I prefer Marions...for all the reasons I've outlined before. It's 'County' to me in a way I can't explain. But, honestly, I can't wait for this to be resolved quickly, since as long as Marions is closed, this issue clearly isn't going away, and some of the contributions haven't been the greatest, let's be honest....Admin work very hard and pay lots of money towards the site, and don't deserve some of the nonsense they've had to put up with in my view.

That just sums you up Suedehead, you are a whiner yourself, you act like a big bully, I signed in give it a go and dont like it, I have not slagged off the board at all, I have NOT abused anyone!
It sounds like a rant from you, and the fact that you swerve questions.
There is no way I want to disrupt this board, no way at all, I have said for those that like it great good luck. Your continuance to refuse to open the other board says a lot about you, lets see what happens when you do, you will be surprised.

It's just a message board, it's not EP and it can't be compared, it's just a place to chat with County fans, if we all go back then so be it but I think there's been far too much fuss. Maybe in a weeks time we'll go back to interesting threads disappearing as people are told to empty their boxes and all will be well with the world.

I’ve just gone back through your posts and not a single one is on anything other than you saying you don’t like this board, accusing us of shutting Marions for good, wanting to know when it’ll reopen etc. Why not comment on the ace video yesterday? The new kits? All the other threads that have taken place? Because you were never going to give it a chance. Just be honest. We’ve been true to our word and will run this for 2/3 weeks. This time next week Marions will be open and TRE and I will be looking forward to you apologising 👍🏼.

For one thing I did apologise on this board, obviously that means nothing to you!
The other threads, are you kidding! Corry storylines, the death of an aligater, the fittest weather girl, give me a break!
2 to 3 weeks, dont make me laugh, you both know it wont open until the 9th end of. Go on then be brave open it tomorrow, no, you wont you are crapping your self about losing posters, go on prove me wrong!
Do you want another apology, here you go sorry for posting!
