I'm currently watching a documentary on Netflix about what happened to the Argentinian submarine ARA San Juan, it's only taken until episode 4 to go from it being an accident, to shoddy repairs, to crew/Captain negligence to a Royal Navy nuclear submarine or sub-hunting Merlin helicopter sinking it with torpedoes or anti-sub bombs ... It went from being not near the Falklands to being very close to the Falklands, honestly, crack pots.

Masters of the Air is f*cking turd though That's disappointing to hear from you, as I know you are well up on WWII. Are the aerial scenes any good? I was brought up on war films, BoB still being a favourite, and Top Gun pretty much reinforced the dream to be a fighter pilot (the RAF said don't call us ...) so anything involving air craft and a dog fight is going to be on my list! Sorry pal. I missed responding to this. The air combat scenes are excellent. Problem is, when you've seen one fantastic, CGI fuelled, air combat scene then you've seen them all. They're all basically very samey. The acting though is absolutely f*cking abysmal all through. To the extent to which, after a two or three episodes I found myself questioning whether Hanks And Spielberg actually de-facto has ANY real involvement because, if they did, and if they watched it back, they would surely have said "this is corny, fake, wooden shit and we should stop, re-start and refilm". Honestly...absolutely dire. The episode with the Tuskagee Airmen was, ahem predictable, but it was probably the only episode worthy of watching. I have to admit, I was really disappointed before I watched a single second of it. "Masters of the Air"...Really? Like...really? Is that THE best title they can come up with for this subject (ie. a 10 part series about WW2 - not a f*cking console game!!!) Masters? Eh? Who? Why? I could never see the WW2 bombing campaigns through a frame of "mastery". Is that just me? The whole thing I found bizarre. Compared to Band of Brothers, which is an absolute masterpiece. And The Pacific which is an even greater masterpiece (in my opinion...controversial I know). For the life of me I don't understand why they did not follow up those two with a Korean War series, given that many of the major players from both BoB and TP ended up there. Instead they chose the bombing campaigns over mainland Europe as a subject...and even then the Battle of Britain followed up with the RAF bombing raids had far more of a "hook" in terms of story writing. Meh. Shite. In terms of Hanks, and Iplayer - Greyhound, whilst a movie, had me far more gripped.

Is it worth a watch? The film wasn’t great. Hugh Grant was awful. There’s some brilliant characters in this, the botanist is just wow😂 Did you not get bored of it? I thought it was BRILLIANT, for a time. Then I just got really tired of it all after half a dozen episodes. I can't really place my finger on why. I enjoyed the first couple of episodes so much that I may assume I was in a bad frame of mind and sit down for a rewatch

Just started Dexter as ran out of stuff to watch. Is it worth persevering? It's very good, series 4 in particular is possibly my favourite series of anything ever. The quality does dip significantly after that though. There was also a sequel series a couple of years ago that was very good for the most part.

Series not season deserves a round of applause. we’re a dying breed speaking English among all these Americanisms. 👏
