It's harsh, but that's the way it is. They're essentially saying if they had an extra point, they'd have survived. Yeah, true. But they haven't. Tough lines, that's football. I agree, it's harsh, but if they had have hung on for another minute against us at EP they would have stayed up. 8.0.2

I have total sympathy with Ebbsfleet, they've accepted their fate & relegation & aren't contesting it they're merely highlighting the fact they feel like they've been punished for managing to get a game on in severe weather when others postponed, Barnet being the obvious case where they failed to have a playable pitch for four games & get rewarded by jumping from 11th to 7th via ppg. It could happen again next season if the threat of a second wave materialises, there may be one or two clubs who don't put as much effort into getting games on in bad weather come the winter months as they should.

But it's fallacious logic, the whole point of PPG is there's no weight to extra games. The 2 points they lost out on at EP have just as much effect on their relegation as the return fixture in March, or any other game they played this season.
That game didn't relegate them, their results over the whole season relegated them.
If this, if that, it doesn't matter, if my auntie had bollocks I'd be a burnley fan

Feel sympathy for them really, PPG was arguably the only fair way to end the season, however when you have teams like Barnet who were 4 games behind everyone else, it does stick in the craw a little bit. Unfortunately nothing can be inherently fair if there are numerous teams playing more or less games than each other. I believe the national league compared to the football league had a lot more disparity in games.
Do worry the exact same thing is going to happen again next season if we rush too fast into a new season. At the very least, the national league should be trying to get any postponed games re-scheduled almost immediately to avoid such gaps opening up again...or avoiding it happening altogether.
