There's something quite nice about the fact that Barrow, Harrogate and Notts County made up the top 3 at the abrupt end to the season. It's worked out as fairly as it could under the circumstances. That's what I love about this playoff system, you receive more of an advantage the higher up you finish (fewer games/more home advantage... though how much home advantage exists without fans is questionable) rather than the pot-luck 4way that we're used to Not sure there is quite the same advantage this year to having fewer games to play... match fitness and all that.

the play offs are still a lottery and always will be. how many times have clubs beaten a team home and away in the regular season and come a cropper in the PO game. if we have for some reason to play aldershot away in next seasons PO i bet we,d get our first ever victory there.

It could be argued that they are even more so this season with how the final league tables were calculated on PPG - so deciding which teams met each other and where - and any good form a team was in at the time the league programme was stopped thrown out of the window. But the playoff game yesterday involving my team certainly proved your point:- Boston United 5 - 3 Gateshead Gateshead had won both league matches 3-0, with their win at Boston actually being the last game played at York Street prior to lockdown.

Added to which it's a right depressing trek to Boston unless you are on a 'funbus' of course.

Weymouth is a nice seaside town isn’t it? Could be a good away weekender for some. I see they won at the death 3-2 Sure is - secretly hoping they come up! Same here, hopefully a fixture for March/April if they win promotion

boston v alty final. think its a real no brainer who we all want to win that one. Boston on a Saturday is a good day out, I think there's just one change at Nottingham, the Groovy Gang did it a couple of years ago and we enjoyed it, it was like being in Poznan walking down the high street.
