How dull is this?
Semi finals are bad enough usually but when teams insist on making so many changes it makes the game even more disjointed and slow.

Very inconsistent these days isn’t he. Sometimes looks like a world beater and sometimes a chump.

You actually realise at the moment how boring and dull most of the live football is. Apart from the fans of the teams involved,it's not really of any relevance, And as there is so much football on tv,the live games have no novelty value at all. It's not like in the 70's when a live match was almost a national occasion,ie the Cup final. Now it's a game or 2 every day.

Agreed. There has been some decent games but it seems more of a hurried and necessary completion of things to sort out the start of next season.

I think it has shown how boring most games actually are if your a neutral, even watching the likes of Liverpool, City, etc hasn't really made great viewing. I know it's an old saying, but football without fans is nothing.

On the other hand I watched an edition of the Big Match with Brian Moore from 70s. Chelsea v Luton and Leeds v Sunderland as well as Liverpool v Citeh. Made me very wistful for those days proper football, standing crowds swaying and going mental when their team scored. It seems so manufactured an sterile now. Take me back.

But it's still basically like that for us. Obviously not so many terraces, which is a negative, but the passion is still there. No-one's telling me County fans care less about us now than County fans did 40 years ago.

I know what Ebbs means though. Standing on a grassy bank at BPA isn’t quite the same as some of the packed away days from the early 90s. And further back for a lot of fans. Having said that, it’s been good to see some old fashioned scenes in recent times like Fylde away.

It’s the stop start nature of it that I can’t be doing with. Too many breaks in play just ruin the flow of the game.
Drinks breaks aren’t needed this long after the restart are they? We don’t have them in pre-season games in the blazing heat so why do top level pros need them when it’s pissing down in Wolverhampton?

I can’t help thinking these drink breaks are going to continue. It’s giving the managers two more opportunities for a team talk. I’m totally against it but I fear it might stay.

I might be wrong, but I was under the impression the drinks breaks were to make it easier for players to each use their own individual bottles, preventing cross-contamination.

I bet some clubs will push for 5 subs to stay as well. Having the ability to change half your outfield players is surely a major advantage to the clubs like Liverpool, City, United etc though who have strength in depth far ahead of the likes of Brighton and Bournemouth etc.
