I can’t help thinking these drink breaks are going to continue. It’s giving the managers two more opportunities for a team talk. I’m totally against it but I fear it might stay. Wouldn't be suprised if there was a sneaky little ad break too on tv... a bit like there is between rounds in boxing.

It’s the stop start nature of it that I can’t be doing with. Too many breaks in play just ruin the flow of the game. Drinks breaks aren’t needed this long after the restart are they? We don’t have them in pre-season games in the blazing heat so why do top level pros need them when it’s pissing down in Wolverhampton? I might be wrong, but I was under the impression the drinks breaks were to make it easier for players to each use their own individual bottles, preventing cross-contamination. That was the original idea. Just heard a commentator in today’s game question if it would disappear next season or not. Apparently the players and managers “love it”.

I know what Ebbs means though. Standing on a grassy bank at BPA isn’t quite the same as some of the packed away days from the early 90s. And further back for a lot of fans. Having said that, it’s been good to see some old fashioned scenes in recent times like Fylde away. Yeah, but I'm not sure ebbs was talking about us as such. More about the sanitisation of the game at the top level. I broadly agree with that, although I accept that comes from someone who rarely engages with it in any meaningful way these days, other than to hope certain clubs don't win stuff! We've been through the mill in some ways but, dispiriting as many days and games have been, we shouldn't pretend to ourselves that every game in the old 4th Division was a raucous party, because we had plenty of shit days in some pretty shit grounds. All I'm saying is that we cared then and we care now and that we still carry that with us into the grounds in the way we always have. Whilst on one level (that of football fan solidarity) I feel a bit for the genuine fans of even Mans U and C for what they've lost from their game in that regard, on most levels I struggle to care too much. Still want standing back at games though 😉

Apparently the players and managers “love it”. hope these drinks breaks and 5 subs do not creep down to our level. we,ll end up having a game of four quarters in the end. mind you the yanks and commercial tv will love it. as for the two games themselves they were not like the old fashioned cup semi finals and more akin to pre season friendly games. it would help however if you really wanted one side to win in either game. normally if you take in a non County game you want or end up wanting one of the sides to win. when you get 4 name sides left in a a semi i for one could not give a damn who wins or in the final either.

Your right Mozzer, that's exactly what I was comparing. Back in the 70s, even 80s match of the day,/the big match was essenti watching, not as good as County but still stirred the blood a bit. Rarely both now, watching prima Donna's like David Luiz pouncing about doesn't float my boat. Championship is OK though, watched a few of them and it much more enjoyable.

A bit more fun now- think the Dung might need a keeper There's always a certain former County loanee who's had two great seasons in Sheffield
