Well, if getting sacked from Tesco after a week and then spending a day chopping up pigs for Morrisons doesn’t inspire you to take up comedy, nothing will. I’ll probably regret doing this when I get ‘croaked off’ the stage after about 30 seconds, but I’m signed up for the Beat The Frog night at the Frog & Bucket in Manchester (Northern Quarter) on Monday 3rd August. For those who haven’t heard of it, it’s a famous open mic comedy night which launched the careers of Peter Kay, John Bishop, Jason Manford, plus loads of others. The winner on the night is the one who gets the loudest cheer from the audience, so regardless of how funny you are, you do need a few people in your corner to stand a chance. So in the absence of any live football for six months, why not come and watch a County fan make a tit of himself on stage instead?! It’s 8pm until 10.30pm. Tickets are £6. And the whole venue is Covid-safe, with social distancing measures in place. Drop me a message or reply on here if you’re coming, and I’ll make sure I say hello and have a beer with you before or after (or both!) frogandbucket.ticketsolve.com/shows/873607330/events/128221332

You’ve done the same round Brum haven’t you?
Could be a County stand up comedy night in the making. You. Me. Maybe Ryan McKnight reading out a few of his old interviews as the warm-up. Stick the highlights of the 6-0 at Macc in the interval. Job done.

Very good.
By the way, I recently spoke to the licensee of the pub where I performed last. "Sorry", he said, "but you can't perform stand up comedy." " Oh", I replied, "is that because of the new regulations?" " No, you can't perform stand up comedy. Your act is crap. "
