I saw a potential that few on here seem to share which is fair enough; to suggest that we’d had better than Vit in the Ben era to me remains absurd. By the way, I had Tanny Abbey (gk) at my school and well remember seeing him in goal during a Year 9 match whilst on ceremonial duty and thought him poor, so that goes to show that my judgement in a position I understand is not worth much; two other alumni in Leon Barnett and Jamal Lewis were more obviously professional footballer level. Are you doing this intentionally? Tell me where anyone said we’d had better than him in the ‘Ben era’ I suspect you’ll be looking for a long time as nobody said it. CB1883 stated that ‘Didn’t think he was that impressive for us when he played’ (8 June), and ‘We’ve had far more memorable loan goalkeepers in the past’ (10 June). I agree that we have had some very fine ones, but not recently, not of the standard I’d be content to replace Ben. I added the ‘Ben era’ bit later for clarification so we were talking about the same thing, and because I think we were at cross-purposes - it was the recent times that was the context of my original defence of Jaros. I don’t think we’ve had better in the Ben era, but you think we’ve had more impressive loan ‘keepers in the past (possibly); opinions on an opinion board. I think that particular bird has flown anyway, so it really doesn’t matter.

We have had more memorable goalkeepers in on loan IN THE PAST!!! I also stand by that. In what language does ‘in the past’ translate to ‘in the Ben era’ You were the only one that mentioned in the Ben era but you insinuated that the comment had come from somebody else, ie me. You completely changed the context/wording of what was said to try and prove your point.

In the Ben era Jaros probably is the best we've had (excluding Ben), but there has't been much competition. But put him against just other loan keepers in the past 20 years, never mind the like of Paul Jones, and he's nowhere near the top. Ruddy, Hennessey, Forster, Myhill (think he's 21 years but you get the point), possibly even Matt Duke, Fon Williams and Joe Lewis all stand above Jaros.

At “only” 6’3”, Jaros definitely doesn’t stand “above” the likes of Hennessey and Jones!

This is getting silly: but just for the record, no I haven’t, and I most certainly don’t need to to you nor anybody else.
