So close, but yet so far. He could definitely feature in a barely memorable 11. I'm not really sure who I'd put in my forgotten/barely memorable XI. My main currency is obscure players so nobodies like Dean Crowe, Jordan Hadfield, Darryl Clarke, Yusuf Coban, Michael Hampson, Tom Eckersley etc are as recognisable, to me, as the likes of Alun, Flynn and Francis. There's probably a slightly less explored sweet spot where they've played 8-12 games. Not one-hit wonders, but those who just drift into obscurity. Aaron Cole, Kyle Brownhill, Lee Stevenson, James Hooper, Tom Aldred. Kevin Gibbons for some reason always sticks in my mind.

Why would he want to come back here when he’s been at Sturm Graz and playing European football? Me saying I didn’t think he was that impressive is hardly slagging him off. He was not a stand out keeper from what I saw. We’ve had far more memorable loan goalkeepers in the past. Who went on to play for Sturm Graz and play European football ? This place at its most absurd! Probably the most exaggerated conclusion I’ve ever seen anyone jump to.

Might be a name or two here for you. All the characters I saw over the years who only apoeared 'off the bench'. That's the kind of nonsense I'm here for. There's only one Tah-Ki Tucker.

To be fair, he did win the Scottish Cup with Hibs (and featured in one of the best videos of crowd singing ever recorded). It's not league title and Champions League level though and that's my point; Logan, as an example, had a much more memorable spell here than Jaros and yet achieved less than Jaros has. Both can be true. Sorry, I thought it was pretty clear that I was joking about the Scottish Cup and Sunshine on Leith.

Who went on to play for Sturm Graz and play European football ? This place at its most absurd! Nothing absurd about it. Jaros was ok for us. Didn’t do a lot wrong but didn’t stand out. He’s since gone on to do very well. But that doesn’t make his spell with us more memorable or impressive. I saw a potential that few on here seem to share which is fair enough; to suggest that we’d had better than Vit in the Ben era to me remains absurd. By the way, I had Tanny Abbey (gk) at my school and well remember seeing him in goal during a Year 9 match whilst on ceremonial duty and thought him poor, so that goes to show that my judgement in a position I understand is not worth much; two other alumni in Leon Barnett and Jamal Lewis were more obviously professional footballer level.

Halifax fans expected him to go for a better offer. Oldham maybe? I'd be delighted for him if he can make it to the FL in the next few years.

I was a bit surprised with the way his career stalled slightly. If anything it was his second (or technically third?) spell here that did it. He was so good during our NLN season and from there expected him to go on and have a solid league career.

Nobody has said he’s not better. If he’s gone to be a full international then he’s obviously very talented. But based purely on the 10-15 games he played for us, he was alright but nothing remarkable. Again, based purely on the games he played for us.

Are you doing this intentionally? Tell me where anyone said we’d had better than him in the ‘Ben era’ I suspect you’ll be looking for a long time as nobody said it.

The classic strawman at play there.
