Liam Hogan is this week's guest on I Had Trials Once; wonder if we'll hear anything about the jig being up? Spoke positively about Jim's detail. Spoke positively about rusk too. He's an under 13 coach in our academy. Not much else to say.

Well i,d guess burtons ground is higher regarding sea level than barrow. Thought he,d opt for accrington, vale or rochdale after WBA rejected him. Liked the lad with us but doubt he,s a leagu 1 player but we,ll see.

Liam Hogan is this week's guest on I Had Trials Once; wonder if we'll hear anything about the jig being up? Slightly confusing about how he came to sign for us. Said we were in the Conference North when he first had talks and he spoke to Simon Wilson, but he didn't sign for us until the January? So I wonder what happened in between.

Probably because the takeover wasn't confirmed until January, so the money wouldn't have been there to pay him; the takeover was rumoured for an age before it finally happened.

It wasn't hogan who said conference north he didn't correct the host. Hogan came across well.

x.com/StockportTownFC/status/1803382228942025081I see that bailing on us to go to Fleetwood worked out well. More constructively, though, I wonder if this allows us to have a look and see if worth re-signing him - still only 20. Not completely sure how our link with Stockport Town works, tbh.

He literally says himself "Conference North" and refers to us training on Tuesday and Thursday nights. He's either mistaken or like Nik says above, must have been talks ages in advance. Agree he came across well, apart from when he said "rejuvinised" rather than rejuvenated.

We were still part time though when he signed in 19-20 just before Covid and just after Stott. He probably just got mixed up momentarily with the division.
He probably knew we were going full time 20-21 (in fact we all did as Stott mentioned it in his opening interview) but those weeks/couple of months before the curtail of 19-20 probably did feel a step back doing part time.

Two and a half years of service, was part of the squad who won promotion back to the FL and now been giving a good entry level opportunity to start coaching at the club. He has a good relationship with Stott and Wilson.

Yes, he left our academy to join Fleetwood, because it was closer to his home. Stockport Town seem to have a few ex academy lads playing for them now. Did think the initial idea was to give academy lads some game time, but they just seem to have signed kids who we've released

The Stockport Town thing doesn’t make any sense to me, given they haven’t got any fans it must be costing Mark Stott a fair bit, can’t see that we get much out of it apart from somewhere for the ladies team to play. His money though.
