The Stockport Town thing doesn’t make any sense to me, given they haven’t got any fans it must be costing Mark Stott a fair bit, can’t see that we get much out of it apart from somewhere for the ladies team to play. His money though. The academy/centre of excellence/whatever it's called is based there too I believe.

They aren't far away from the national league are they? They will be the perfect club to send out kids to for loans

His money though. Personally, I dislike the name Stockport Town as it identifies and defines the team as specifically and only representing the town of Stockport; it thereby pointedly excludes geographically the district centres that make up most of the borough. (Plus, don’t they play at one of those district centres - Woodley ?). Stockport Metro, Stockport Borough, Stockport, AFC Stockport, whatever, anything but Town.

Halifax fans expected him to go for a better offer. Oldham maybe? I'd be delighted for him if he can make it to the FL in the next few years. I was a bit surprised with the way his career stalled slightly. If anything it was his second (or technically third?) spell here that did it. He was so good during our NLN season and from there expected him to go on and have a solid league career. Seen in Woodley with Dave Conlon yesterday, the plot thickens.

His money though. The Academy is based there, along with the education side of things. The Academy lads also use the gym facilities on the complex, & the first team have trained on the artificial surface a few times, when the frost has made it impossible to use Carrington, in the winter.

Why, could just be using the facilities to keep himself fit during the close season whilst he gets fixed up elsewhere

If Stockport ever gets city status they,d have to change their name to Stockport City. Could ask local fans then which city they are on about, Stockport or the manchester one.
