In the days when people had milkmen and paid in cash, I used to deliver to Brian Trueman in Bramhall. He always passed the time of day and came across as a true gentleman.

Christoph Daum. Always seemed to be the manager of a German or Turkish club in Europe. Lung cancer, 70. Blimey, I missed this one. Daum was the Bayern Leverkusen manager when I lived in Germany. There was huge controversy when a magazine alleged he had taken cocaine in his not so recent past. He refuted it and declared he'd take a drugs test at a press conference. He subsequently failed the test, with cocaine traces found in his hair sample that he provided. If I remember rightly, Völler was the German national side manager and took temporary charge of Leverkusen. I'm sure Daum had been tipped to succeed Völler. Think he disappeared for a while and then re emerged abroad, likely Turkey as he had had success there before his ill fated stint at Leverkusen.

Don't forget finger mouse & bagpuss. Basically most of the tv I watched as a very young child was made by whacked out hippies from the 60's Saturday morning tv used to bloody brilliant as a kid too. All the re-runs of stuff like thunder birds, stingray, fireball xl5, Joe 90, captain Scarlet, Zorro, The lone ranger, Rocket man, Champion the wonder horse & gentle Ben The original batman, spiderman, the hulk, space 1999, battle star galactica, Buck Rogers! & of course Tiswas! Used to leg it downstairs as a kid on a Saturday morning waiting for my weekly comic to be delivered hoping it had a free gift or some sweets attached to it.....fast forward 40 odd years & now I'm petrified of the post as all it brings is bills, bills, bills!

Tiger - Used to have a few footy stories in it. Roy of the rovers, Hotshot Hamish, & Billy's boots were the ones that spring to mind 😁

Space 1999 was superb ... and quite creepy at times.

Before Roy of the Rovers, I used to get the Dandy. As a kid I used to buy loads of old comics and football mags at jumble sales in dusty church halls - are jumble sales still going? - Whizzer & Chips, Krazy, Beezer, Tiger, Topper, Shiver & Shake, Cor!!, Whoopee.

The Clangers is on these days, just before our 2yo goes to bed. Seems the oddest programme going to me and I change it over haha.

Football was better when Vauxhall Conference defenders called Clive could come 3rd in BBC's Goal of the Season. I remember this really fondly, RIP Clive Freeman.
