slightly surprised Conlon gets the caretaker job, rather than Jansen, which suggests Jansen isn't really in the running.
Haven't heard Michael Brown mentioned for a while, and hopefully that's a good thing
There have been a few hints towards Cowley (ex-Lincoln) here and there, and that looks a decent appointment on paper.

Maybe Jansen wants to keep his nose out of the immediate aftermath...

I feel disrespectful even thinking about Jim’s replacement.
Brown or Jansen would be an embarrassment.

The Cowley Brothers would be the most logical and only replacement I'd take.
What they did at Lincoln was remarkable and if they came here and repeated that (and possibly more given the greater financial backing they'd have) then this sacking would be looked back upon as a masterstroke.
Feels a bit like when Adkins was sacked for Southampton. I just hope we get our Pochettino.
If it's Pearson, Brown, Jansen or some no mark no-one's ever heard of then they will have to literally perform miracles to win me over

It would be looked upon as a travesty regardless of what happens with our next manager.

They were happy when they realised what they got with Poch. If we have someone who can come in and take us to the next level it'll be seen as exactly that. A masterstroke. If the new man doesn't hit the ground running, it'll be a very rocky time for everyone. Naturally I'm fuming with JGs sacking, and I'm interested to see what comes out in the next few days.

Gannon was well on his way to, and had previously already took us to that level?

Adkins was there for 3 years not someone who had been part of 1000 games as a manager and player and for a lot of our younger fans (myself included) the only manager we've seen bring success to this club in our entire lives. In fact, 'younger fans' is basically anyone under 30 now!

Gannon was well on his way to, and had previously already took us to that level? Perhaps so. It's the only comparison that I can think of that's similar. Fact is Adkins deserved the chance to have time to improve on what he'd achieved, just like Jim. Hence why they were outraged at his sacking. They forgot all about it when they got the appointment and saw what he could do. I don't agree with the sacking, it's awful. But bottom line is, people support the club as a whole ahead of any custodian.
