Seems like I may have hit a nerve there. PS: I'm unhappy with more than one thing that's happened. The sacking. The appointment. Another appointment. It's all about opinions though. The language you use does you no favours and would likely be called out if it was used by people with an alternative view to yours. I know we’re all big boys and girls but can we please try and temper the language a little. And include myself in that. ✌️

There's quite a lot of bad language used on here. The moderators seem fairly relaxed about it and I therefore know I push the boundaries a bit. I don't think too many people have been censured for bad language. If they have then that's not fair and I should have been to. As happened on the other board (Phil and Christine used to frequently chastise me in the Spinning Top for my industrial language). Anyhow. Are you seriously offended? They're just words and the sun will continue to shine tomorrow despite my use of them. I will, it goes without saying, try to reign it in.

(In all seriousness, apologies).

No. But in the defence of potty mouths like me world wide there are far worse things in life than bad language. Else none of use would follow football I dare say.

Anyone else now grinning to themselves about that bit in Aliens when the sergeant says they can’t used guns in case they blow up the reactor? Just me, then. *gets coat*

I’m similar to most on here, I imagine, in that swearing is part of everyday parlance and I tend to embrace it. And the odd shit here and there never hurt anybody. But do have to balance it against there being some younger readers and those who aren’t so keen on stronger language. Generally I think we’re a pretty fair bunch and language on here isn’t much different from that used in pubs, workplaces and houses up and down the country.

On the subject of swearing, then during our promotion season, 2 of the most popular songs towards the end involved the F word.... Ashley Palmers magic and 'heading the f*cker back' was probably the song of the season, as it was sang from about October onwards and got louder as the season went on . Then at the apeshit Curzon game there was the loudest every f*ck you Chorley we're gonna win the league chant. Add in a bit of United shit, City worse, who the F in hell are you, your so shit its unbelievable, shove your f*cking dragon up your arse, the referees a w*nker, etc etc then swearing and football pretty much go hand in hand... I guess it looks worse in text on forums though, rather then when used in everyday use. Personal insults are worse than the use of swear words to me, as we all know that most employees at County will read places like this, along with their family and friends.

My daughters know what words they're allowed to say and what they're not. We don't pretend the words don't exist. I wouldn't intentionally swear in front of anyone who I thought it might offend though so have no issue following the rules as best I can.

Anyone who has any issues with their children hearing swear words and bad behaviour on the part of adults generally can't EVER take their children to football. It's just the most insane disconnect there. The behaviour football players exhibit is absolutely appalling. I love it of course. But, it really is abysmal in terms of an example to children.

One thing I’ve noticed over the last few years is that virtually all decisions and goals conceded are followed by players desperately blaming somebody - the ref, linos, opposition players or their own players. Very rarely do players just accept these things as part of the game. Is it a generational entitlement thing (I.e. lack of respect), learned/copied behaviour, a lack of discipline or the pressure of what’s at stake. The more I see it the more I admire the philosophy that JG tried to promote in his players.
