I think the setarianism angle is being persued by one side of this argument and one side only. The flag was made up not for the above reasons but to show unity with Countys friends from north of the border and from across the channel. If it was a sectarian issue then it would of had a great big red hand in the middle, easily done. The choice of badge was made as it was relevant to a lot of those who paid for it and it was decided that this was the most apt badge. It wouldn't of been my first choice, i'd of preferred the Cheshire flag. Heatin Norris Rovers is our history. That is the be all and end all of the new flag. The only issue here is taken by those who spend far too long over thinking every situation nowadays, I blame lock-down, far too many spare minutes on their hands, they need to get out more and get to the pub, gym, meet women (or men if that is their thing), anything really that would stop them over analysing the world. Animo Et Fide. I'd accept your argument if the Irish flag hadn't been taken down. A piece of coloured material is not offensive. Context is what makes it offensive. Nobody in their right mind could have thought that the Irish flag was being flown for any other reason than to celebrate Jim Gannon. Any flag can have negative connotations in the wrong context, but it doesn't mean that a flag can't also be a perfectly innocent symbol of a country in a different context. We've had some great Irish players in our history who don't deserve to be lumped in with terrorists. There may well be some County fans who also follow Rangers/Hamburg without any sectarian reasoning behind it, but it is undeniable that there are those that do. The fact that the Rangers/Hamburg flag has been given pride of place and for some it is a symbol of sectarianism is not a great look for the club. If it was one of many in the CE it would be easier to ignore.

Glad someone spelt Colombia right. Whereabouts is she from mate? My wife has family in Medellin, I was due over there in June for Copa America and gutted it’s not happening now. She is from Bogota. I have visited a few times, the people are very friendly and the city feels safer than London. She visits Medellin often and tells me of how beautiful it is. I once went to a bar in Bogota that was owned by a British bloke, there was a metal plaque on the wall advertising Robinson's bitter - small world. Great stuff. We have some Colombian friends/family that walk around Medellin in County stuff. Not seen your flag - can you upload a photo or DM me? Cheers.

Who is trying to say it represents the majority? A lot of people chipped in for it, we like it, it’s relevant to us. We aren’t saying everyone else has to like Rangers or HSV because some of us do. This is getting very very tedious now.

Yes I did. So instead of having me make my own conclusion perhaps you can enlighten us. Forgetting mock ups from WUMs, if a genuine fan of County/Celtic made a flag similar to yours but with their logo on would you be happy with it being displayed inside EP ? Simple Yes or No ? Personally I wouldn’t like it. To me it would be like having a Burnley or St Pauli flag in the ground. I don’t like either of those teams either. Would I go out of my way to stop it or be outraged on the internet because of it? No. Do I object to the Fiorentina one? Not at all as it’s a club I have no reason to dislike and as with myself and Rangers/Hamburg it’s great to see others have friendships and what not with clubs from outside of England. I went quiet because I've been busy and I'm not sure there's much else to say. I did post something mischievously, yes, because I think it demonstrated a core issue about this: people on one hand being upset that not everyone agrees with their flag; but on the other, becoming outraged when someone chose to have a bit of a pop back. Surely it works both ways? The lad obviously wanted a reaction and he got one. But anyway, these things get muddy very quickly. I've said a few times now: A) The Rangers lads are as entitled as anyone to celebrate what they like. B) I know they're as County as any of us. C) It doesn't mean everyone has to demonstrate a reverence for Rangers because we have some Rangers lads who follow us. D) I'm really not arsed about the Celtic v Rangers thing; I dislike both clubs in equal measure. E) My opinion is just that, my opinion - it's not worth any more or less than anyone else's. F) The flag itself looks quite nice on the eye, but more main issue with it is that: G) When I first saw it on the stream, the first thing I could see when the camera panned over to the Railway End (and what I didn't like) was the badge of another club. I'd have said the same if it was a Villareal badge. Some lads had that flag made, cool. Good for them. I'd prefer if the most visible flag on display was a County badge, though. Not someone else's. That's it really. I don't think there needs to be any more to it.

It would have been a shock to have bumped into anyone wearing a County shirt when I was in Bogota. The tourism industry is just starting to ramp up again in the city, hardly surprising as there is so much to see and do there. Here's a photo of the flag:

Now we've had the story on the Colombian (sorry about the spelling last time) flag, who's going to explain the Welsh one?

I started writing a reply disagreeing that it makes any difference that they're in different countries, but thought a bit more about it and decided it does make it more acceptable, I think I wore my Borussia Dortmund socks at Ebbsfleet last season. That old County crest looks wrong on the flag, it was before my time but I've never seen it in those colours before, did it ever have yellow and orange?
The Bukta shirt from the mid-80s used that orange/yellow crest. Ah the first replica top I ever had.
