These are the people who think a five o'clock kick off on a week day is acceptable

-- From NL Statement: The 27,000-capacity stadium, home of Bristol City, has undergone major renovation work in recent years, transforming into a leading UK sporting venue. thats all fine if they actually knew what part of the country bristol was situated. ashton gate is not at the far end of where their local bristol street motors is.

6750 on the day (25% of 27,000). 8.7.3 Ashton Gate is an awful stadium, it lacks atmosphere even with a decent crowd. You are having a laugh! On its day, Ashton Gate is one of the loudest grounds in the country. Whilst I agree it's a very strange choice of a venue to play this match, Ashton Gate is a proper old school football ground and the atmosphere that can be generated therein is - in my opinion - one of the best I've ever been in.

Been twice and hated it. I always felt it was fairly average. Neither great, neither crap. Been two or three times with County in the away end, and once as an interested neutral in the home end.

dave challinor was asked on his pre match preview about ashton gate. his reply was it did feel a wierd choice but thinks the league had asked all premier league clubs but they all declined. anyway with a low attendance there parking will not be a big problem if you arrive early. thats if they have not gone mad with yellow paint and residents only streets within a couple of miles from the ground since we were there last.

If so,that just sums up the Premier League clubs who couldn't care less about helping lower lge clubs. Anyway i don't understand why they couldn't have agreed a provisional list of say 3 or 4 grounds from various parts of the country and then, when the finalists are known, decide on the best and fairest location for the 2 teams involved.

That would have required a degree of common sense that the NL have never shown.

I just assume it's the biggest ground they could afford. Not sure how much the NL were offering but presumably could only offer a pittance.

That would have required a degree of common sense that the NL have never shown. In fairness it probably would have required paying fees to all 3 or 4 stadium owners as a holding fee. It is the most sensible choice if money's no object. It's odd though, some well connected people (on non league podcasts and such) have been convinced it was going to be Leicester for weeks.

With only two games left for most sides (three or four for a few others), there are some fascinating fixtures left with teams in or chasing the playoffs playing each other - they'll have a huge bearing on the playoffs:
Wrexham (5th) vs Notts County (6th) Chesterfield (7th) vs Dagenham (11th) Sutton (1st) vs Hartlepool (4th) Dagenham (11th) vs Wrexham (5th) Bromley (8th) vs Notts County (5th) Halifax (9th) vs Chesterfield (7th)
Looking at the fixtures, personally fancy Eastleigh to gatecrash the playoffs. I reckon we'll play them in the final. Aldershot (15th) vs Bromley (8th)
