I noticed the guy in the Uruguay shirt and thought it was quite cool but didn't realise it was Danny's son.

The brochure is really well done, professional, and a touching tribute to a very special person with a unique personality - thanks to the Coop, Help the Hatters, and anyone else involved in producing it.
Hope the youngsters will take time to look through it and feel the emotion; it’s now 32 years since Danny walked through the doors, but without him - and Brendan Elwood - fans today could well be watching a Workington.
Perhaps a Danny video related to the appeal could be produced for the screen at EP - youngsters are into screens rather than the written word - and it would impact on those a little older as well.

Many thanks for the kind words Stevie. The articles are from "The Man from Uruguay" which was written by Phil Brennan and HB Print in Marple helped with the design and printing. I would like to thank them and everyone who helped hand out the brochures yesterday. I agree with your comments. Danny left around 26 years ago, having totally transformed our football club and giving County fans one of best, most exciting periods of our history. Dave Jones built on the team left by Danny and that culminated in the phenomenal 96 - 97 season! Many of the crowd yesterday won't have even been born whilst Danny was at the Club, let alone seen his team, but it would be fantastic if the brochure helped them learn a bit more about our history and Danny's wonderful character. If anyone wants a hard copy of the brochure, please send me an email - johngiles20@hotmail.com

Many thanks to everyone that helped hand out the Danny Bergara brochure today. It was great to be joined by Simon Bergara. We hope you enjoyed the tributes from Kevin Francis and Peter Ward - and review of Danny's playing career. Please help support this fantastic campaign to honour Danny with a statue! www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/dannybergaraView AttachmentI enjoyed it, thanks to everyone involved. I particularly liked Wardy's story about Danny!

Are there any more available?

Pleased you like the mugs jkb9b and sorry to hear that yours has broken.
We've sold all our initial stock of 100 mugs, but we've got more on order and they will be on sale before the Bromley game.

Really upsets me that this statue has been left to minuscule fundraising. It’s sad and depressing and a blot on his his name that as a fan base we can’t get a big haul in and get this statue sorted and built quickly. Even Rochdale did. I’m almost tempted to say to the owners get it sorted, at least then it’s done, means f*ck all to them. Means the world to us. They should do it. Or the fans are going to take 15 years to do it. It’s depressing, Danny deserves much more.
Already it should be at the Armoury roundabout paid for by the council. We should have several. But it isn’t. We should’ve loads all around Edgeley.
f*cking tw*ts.

County have said we can have a bucket collection for the Notts County game and they are also looking at helping us arrange a friendly. If we can arrange a friendly in the summer, it will be a game changer and take us to within striking distance of our target. We also have circa £2,300 from the Hatter Half to go into the fund, which will put us around £15k. Just waiting on a final invoice. It won't certainly won't take 15 years to achieve our target (with or without the Club)! Rochdale's campaign was different to ours and they had a much lower target. The Co-op do have a preferred sculptor in mind, who has an extremely impressive portfolio. We feel that we need to do a statue of Danny justice and we don't want to take risks. Hope to provide more details of the sculptor shortly, but we just need more confidence that we will achieve our target before going public. Once a friendly is arranged, that would probably be a good time.

I must re-join the Co-op, one of those things I keep meaning to do.
A few years ago the Co-op ran a 5-aside Xmas Tournament at Stockport Powerleague - not sure who organised it then - but could be a good fundraising idea for the Danny Statue?

Thanks Dids, hope you can sign up again. The tournaments were organised by Andy Plant. They were a good fundraiser, but unfortunately we can't get the same deals now, so they wouldn't make much money.
