Contemplating going by train Saturday. Not my usual form of travel. Am I correct in saying best route is Stockport to Man. Piccadilly Walk to Man. Victoria Man. Victoria to Halifax I am asking because some options on train line had going via Salford Crescent and a couple via huddersfield If from Man. Victoria do you think most will travel on the 11.21 from Victoria arriving Halifax 12.04? That's the route and times I'm taking. You can go via Huddersfield from Picc but a few quid more expensive I think. I'm arriving at 13:18 from Kings Cross - I hope by that point there's still some room in the Three Pigeons!

Halifax fan here. Unless your bringing 3-4000. I wouldn’t worry. You will have 900 seats in new stand, and if it’s like last time you will get a quarter of terracing behind goal, i would imagine it would be a moving barrier if needed. Think you bought 1400 or so on Xmas day and you fit snugly in east stand and that quarter terrace. If we opened up whole terrace you would have to be bringing 2000 plus. Also it’s just pay on gate with cash. Shite I know Also expect you to almost Mirror home support, we will have anywhere From 1500-2000 home fan max Nice one, cheers. Is it pay at the turnstile or, as suggested elsewhere, queue up for a ticket and then queue up again at the turnstile? Hopefully the former!

Pay at turnstile mate, you will be at turnstiles closest to town/train station. I have a feeling and hopefully it’s announced soon if it is allowed, but the club often get Lloyds to open the massive multi story car park that literally backs on to the away end. If it does open it’s usually a fiver.

Greetings shaymenjohn, I quite enjoy browsing the Halifax message board from time to time & seem to remember seeing it mentioned that you've got a stand that's condemned for safety reasons? I might be talking absolute twaddle but if true just wondering why as the shay nowadays looks a vast improvement on when we used to visit in the 80's!

The terracing was condemned for a while because concrete was shifting to much, but it’s been fixed for a season or two now. The old seated stand isn’t used anymore, people thought it was condemned but it was used for our bubble game of last Season. Would imagine a Portion of it would open for any team that plans to bring anything pushing 3000+ . Think we have probably the biggest away allocation in league should any team need it. Which of might be of use if the likes of yourselves, Grimsby, Chesterfield or Wrexham are still doing well towards end of season.

They can, and will if required give the whole of the side stand, which holds 5k 😉

Matty will get a great reception from us, Harvey was rarely used but I thought he had something about him.

Just had a look at the odds on bet365 for Warby to score anytime (bound to happen innit!) 11/5, same odds as Rooney. Embarrassingly they also have Connor Jennings at 11/5 also!

Matty Warburton has been class so far. Our best player Last was Jack Earing who has moved onto Walsall. We haven’t missed a beat with Warburton moving into the no 10 role. He hasn’t scored yet but he really suits how we play. Gilmour you can tell is a good player, done well as well, but I think he will get better as he plays more. We have a different setup to most teams in this league and will not be punting it up field. The football we have played at home this season has been really impressive. Our Striker is Billy Waters who is about 5”6 he’s also scored 5 in 6 all from open play and will be handful as he never stops running. We have quite a few injuries and the average age our team on Tuesday was 23, but PW seems to have worked Wonders again this season and I think We will do Ok again.

Matty was outstanding for us, one of my favourite players in recent years and I always thought he'd make it in the league.

I can’t make Saturday but the County crowd will make all the difference and Halifax will be far more worried about us than we should be about them. We will make it seem like it’s a home game . Errr is that where it goes wrong ?

Can't remember the name of the pub but it's a tiny little place next to Halifax Town Hall that did the best pub pies I've ever tasted. At least they did on the way that mad afternoon at BPA. Good beer too. It's pre match on days like this coming Saturday that I miss most as an exile.
