I honestly don’t think sacking Simon Rusk would achieve much, unless Simon Wilson is binned with him. Or, a new manager is brought in who has the authority to do things his way, and Wilson’s role is to do nothing more than support that.

Going to watch Blossoms tonight, last time I saw them was at EP. What a night that was, the whole town and club was absolutely buzzing. EP might have been a bit rough round the edges but it was home, it was seeing success again.
Couldn’t feel more opposite tonight. Shows how important the performances are, cos without them, all this infrastructure improvement counts for nothing.

Can’t help but think that as long as Wilson is here we will have a Rusk type manager. If he’s choosing the next man he is looking for a yes man who buys in to his “project”. He won’t appoint a traditional manager in the Jim sense of the word who is allowed to think for himself. Wilson needs to go too.

Don't think Chris Wilder has been mentioned as a replacement for Rusk. He could be an option whether he would work with Wilson, I don't know, Chris would probably eat him alive! He has been in lower league including Halifax for 6 seasons. An good incentive based package, could interest him. Unless he's waiting for something bigger of course. Championship and beyond!

Need to change manager this week and also bring in two proven strikers. Paddy madden needs shipping off overpaid waste of space. Sadly none of the above will happen and Rusk will remain hes on a 3 year deal and wont be going. He doesn’t need shipping off but he needs dropping at least. Too many entitled players in the squad. But then again… this “tight” squad we’ve got means we’ve no option to but to play the same team. What is wrong, I am sorry to keep saying this but we had all close season to sort out the strikers. Instead we kept signing defenders. We have been unfortunate to lose Quigley, but you have to have back up if we want promotion and we haven’t got back up. No striker on the bench as we played what we had available. Both Quigley and Jennings out for sometime. As we saw today Warburton should have been resigned in close season. The writing was on the wall on Tuesday when we couldn’t create anything positive once Maidenhead had gone down to nine men. If Rusk and co want to save their jobs, they must drop Hogan. Makes too many costly errors and not a suitable Captain, play Palmer and get a suitable defender to replace Hogan someone like Carl Piergianni. Sign Omar Bogle a good left footed striker to give us balance and bring in Jack Stretton as Derby urgently need the cash at the moment and then watch us rock. If we cannot get any of these players, then we must splash the cash on a solid defender to partner Palmer and Fryers and increase our striking options. Don’t do it on the cheap Mark, bring in the best at this level before it’s too late. Now I know you will all shout me down again, but you all know that something has to be done to stop this slide which is going to get worse if the team isn’t strengthened. At the moment with our home form we ain’t going to beat Wrexham so we must do something this week to ensure we will. Go another week without action and Rusk and co should gracefully leave the job. Finally M20 Hatter, I am sure you will enjoy your evening better than watching the match today.

Only contradiction that keeps cropping up in peoples posts though is saying we shouldn’t have signed defenders as our defence was so good, but at the same time we should drop Hogan! Thanks CBF, it’ll take a few beers to get over today!

Its not just Hogan.... it's having the authority and steel to drop the so called untouchables if they don't implement the tactics or preform for the team and SR seems incapable of doing that we are after all non league and a manager should not have to put up will any player giving it billy big balls But on the flip side the players have to believe in what the manager is telling them to do and this lot clearly don't So change the squad or change the manager

Hogan had to settle for a place on the bench when he came back from missing a game due to the fake labour and only came back in as Palmer was suspended. There would have been big pressure to play Fish but he hasn’t been seen since opening day. Rooney is the only player who has scored from open play in seven games so no idea who you would want to replace him. Madden is one of only two fit strikers - again how and who do you drip him for?

Jim would be telling him to run away a mile from this club Chris wilder is a legend in the red half of Sheffield where I live. He knows his way around the lower leagues and doesn't have the ego that would stop him getting back involved with a non league club. If Mr Stott was tell that he was binning all the Wilson Bollocks and that he was going 'all in' with him and wanted him sort it out from top to bottom, he might just go for it. He has the gravitas to deal with the ex EFL mercenaries we have got lumbered with and because he has been there and done it in the real world not the virtual world he would help unite the club and fans again. One caveat, I would probably watch him when he is spending £20M+ on a player, as that appears to be his 'achilles heel', but we had need to worry about that for a few years.

Relationships, lines of communication, some signings we made. Certain things that, in hindsight, I’d have done differently,” Wilder said.
