I have never been a “‘sack the manager!’ type” and am not now - but there does come a point when you have to cut your losses. I’ll say it again, if Simon Rusk shows even an ounce of willingness to try something else rather than sticking with the same system “that worked last season” (it didn’t) then I’d be prepared to give him time to turn it round. He hasn't done so far. This is the way I see it too, but there’s hasn’t even been a glimmer of promise of change… never mind improvement 😞 Add to that the lack of improvement of any player since the day he arrived. Just wonder if the players themselves are happy with having to play the style we are playing which could be the reason for this. If it was not broken there would be nothing to fix, but at the moment its broken and some of the pieces seem lost.

Have you watched the “who am I?” thing with Keano and Ash? There was a couple of bits in there that suggested a divided camp to me at one point something like “do you speak to him?” was said for example. I know it’s a big group of people and they aren’t all expected to get on and be mates, but there felt a little more to it than that. I might just be heightened to be overly concerned at the moment though too, given how poor it’s been.

Not over sure what its like on the pitch but off it players do tend or did form groups of the like minded and rarely mix with the others. Same as we all do in our jobs i suppose down to tables in the canteen.

It'd be nice to see him try and change games from the dugout rather than standing there looking gormless.

It'd be nice to see him try and change games from the dugout rather than standing there looking gormless. I'm yet to hear anyone, including the man himself, explain how he is going to turn things round. He has no plan B, signs players such as Whitfield and Walker for no apparent reason and feels putting square pegs into round holes is proof of adaptability. The 18 game unbeaten run is touted as proof that the system works however it is clear that we have been found out. SR said at the start of the season that he expected opponents to come to EP and defend and catch us on the break. They have done the opposite although it took Grimsby a while before the penny dropped. Our defenders don't have the skills to play the game Rusk has imposed on them. Until he sits down with the players and figures out a system that is appropriate for them and not his own ego he will not have my support. We are still running on 2 attackers (well 3 if you include the 2 goal a year guy from Scunthorpe) which speaks volumes.

I do take back it being a big group of people though In hindsight as it’s actually a smallish squad now, but still siding on giving the benefit of the doubt.

Where our media team f*cked up on the last question. Can anybody at the club do their job well. PS the size of Ash’s legs are ridiculous 😂

Gannon got sacked after a win, winning a game at home doesn’t change what’s happened. Need to make a change and be ruthless

If he has just won a second chance he’d better not waste it. Needs to tell McGhee to do one though.

Gannon got sacked after a win, winning a game at home doesn’t change what’s happened. Need to make a change and be ruthless I don’t think he’s got what it takes but I don’t agree with sacking him after the first home win in what 9 games, and the first time he’s got a win from a losing position. Pushing Whitfield forward and playing him as a winger alongside Reid and Madden more centrally sounds like the sort of positive change I’ve been waiting for him to show he’s capable of. If he’s prepared to change things to get results then I’m prepared to wait and see.
