Delete this thread, trust in rusk Only our 3rd win in 8 games (none of them have been overly convincing wins). Not good enough for a team that has to be challenging for top spot this season. By all accounts we still haven't managed a good 90 minutes. One win today doesn't cancel out the Yeovil and Halifax losses. He has a long way to go before people will stop doubting him.

Gannon got sacked after a win, winning a game at home doesn’t change what’s happened. Need to make a change and be ruthless I don’t think he’s got what it takes but I don’t agree with sacking him after the first home win in what 9 games, and the first time he’s got a win from a losing position. Pushing Whitfield forward and playing him as a winger alongside Reid and Madden more centrally sounds like the sort of positive change I’ve been waiting for him to show he’s capable of. If he’s prepared to change things to get results then I’m prepared to wait and see. It’s the kinda thing we should have been doing eight games ago. No chance he’s going after a win when he stayed after the Halifax defeat though. I just hope we’re still in with a chance of playoffs when he does go.

Rusk went straight down the tunnel after the game. Very strange Nah he didn't. He shook hands with all of the Wrexham players and then clapped all three stands before going down the tunnel. He was one of the last ones off the pitch. He looked far from happy when he did so, but he didn't go straight down the tunnel.

He did look really dejected and seemed a bit off, which was a bit weird.

Madden is fine as an inside forward, but we need a CF à la Garry Lineker

I know this is slightly off topic but players being happy made me remember. Have you watched the “who am I?” thing with Keano and Ash? There was a couple of bits in there that suggested a divided camp to me at one point something like “do you speak to him?” was said for example. I know it’s a big group of people and they aren’t all expected to get on and be mates, but there felt a little more to it than that. I might just be heightened to be overly concerned at the moment though too, given how poor it’s been. Considering the way things have gone this season, I would have thought that it would be good policy for SR to have each player, who was in the team for the last match, invited to have a meeting with him the next day. Asking questions and listening to answers—to gain the player's feelings about his own performance and how the team might have performed better. I am sure many will want to suggest a different line of discussion, but something of that sort should help him and, as a newcomer to the club and its position, it should be of benefit.

All true, but coming out for the 2nd Half I was looking at a guy that probably knew he was 45 minutes from the sack, which isn't nice to see for any Manager (regardless of what people think of the circumstance he got the job). So even if there are still doubts, I'm at least going to be happy for him tonight at getting that result.

My mistake I’m just going off what I heard Fair enough. He did look really dejected and seemed a bit off, which was a bit weird. At the time I thought he might have lapped it up a bit more, but thinking about it now, then fair enough for not milking it like a big cup upset or a memorable result... it's our job to lap it up and the manager and players job to just enjoy it and prepare for next week.

I was thinking when didn't see him long after the whistle: 1) he didn't want to let it look too much of a big result for him (even though it obviously was), 2) let the players take the adulation / credit
