February feels a long time ago. It’s almost as though there are other teams out there with analytics departments who watch videos of us and figure out how to take points off us… DC is similar to jg. They're both what I would call run managers. His teams go on good runs and then little spells of poor runs. This season reminds me of 95/96 and a couple of pieces of the jigsaw would see us through. I also think next year they'll be movement out. The failed signings barclay Quigley Ross and others like paddy sarc crankshaw are into the last years of their contracts. If they were to receive a 2 year deal somewhere they'd take it.

Jim Gannon is a much more sophisticated coach IMO and has more solutions when things are going awry but the “run manager” comparison is warranted DC reminds me of Klopp, energetic front footed aggressive play that is basic but intoxicating and when the momentum builds the whole place is bouncing and results inevitably follow… but when it goes wrong the bottom lip comes out, everyone and everything else is to blame, and he doesn’t know what to do to fix it

For me JG and DC gets things right and wrong in about the same amounts. Think some of Jims team selection left us a bit open mouthed at times and think we had more drawn games under him than DC.

I think DC obviously does know how to get us back on track as we were 19th at the beginning of October last year and had climbed up to 5th by end of Feb. Match to match he’s obviously still learning as all teams are, but he’s definitely shown he knows how to sort it out.

He can get us back on track when he's coming in and changing the tactics, squad, team of a previous manager. Can he do it as well when it might be his own tactics, team, squad that need changing or altering?

Not saying all County fans who are "Challinor out" bandwagon are k*obheads but if you feel that way fine, we should all be in this together backing Challinor as he's gotten this far sure Donny Rovers and the Gills were teams wanted a draw out of this but Colchester should be an easier trip and I'm backing them to score tomorrow

Possibly those wanting him out are the same types who moaned at danny, dave jones and JG when we dared not win games they thought we should.

That's true I mean I think we were bound to have a blip at some point near the end of the season but Challinor knows his players well and when we can hit our stride again

He’s definitely shown flashes of that, Northampton at home being a really good example of where he’s setting up differently based on the other team. It just seems that these couple of recent games against Solihull mk. 2 are part of that learning that learning curve. You could see the difference in performance between Donny and Gillingham, so many more attempts but still too negative, but that improvement gives me confidence that he’s got loads more potential to improve as a manager.

Nobody is "Challinor Out" that I know. He's an excellent manager. I said everyone at the club is fighting for their future after Tuesday, which they are. It's the same as every ambitious club. We can't rest on our laurels. Anybody who tails off, as has looked the case in the last three, will be replaced by somebody else. Successful teams have demanding environments.
We need to be much, much better tomorrow.

I put up a poll in September/early October when we were rarely winning, the same as I'd done the previous year under Steve. I think of all the respondents only 3 wanted Challinor out straight away. The majority said to give it til Christmas, others said end of the season regardless what happened.
So there may have been a tiny minority who wanted him out earlier in the season but not many. And I've not seen or heard anyone openly say he should go now based on recent results. That'd just be utter idiocy.

I’ve seen more people whinging about the imaginary ‘Challinor out’ brigade than I’ve seen people actually wanting him out.

I don’t know anyone who wants him out, he has incredible levels of support and goodwill and for good reason; he delivered what is arguably the most difficult promotion of them all
