Really hope not, If our destiny this season is a trip to Wembley I hope it's against a side who will bring a decent following i.e. Bradford, Carlisle or Mansfield. We've only averaged about 15K on our previous visits but i reckon with the renewed enthusiasm surrounding the club & the increase in gates we've seen, we could possibly take 20-25K (obviously that figure includes a lot of day trippers). A game against Salford would probably see a sub 30K attendance which doesn't lend itself to a decent atmosphere in a ground that holds 90K, Rochdale was great for the win & the promotion but atmosphere wise it was crap compared to our previous visits where the gates were substantially more. We'd definitely be outnumbered by the likes of Bradford but much like the Stoke, Vale, & Burnley games it wouldn't matter as we'd just sing louder! Couldn't see Salford taking much more than they get for an average home game. Think if we play a proper club in the final we,ll be outnumbered by their fans. Apart from bradford the rest will be taking more day trippers there as a percentage of their home support than us. With that happening we,ll have the quality if not the quontity. I'd think Carlisle and Bradford would both comfortably take more than us. They'll already be up, but Orient would to but that's more in the same way we'd take more than them if the final was at Old Trafford. Mansfield would probably take similar numbers to us, maybe even slightly more. There was 38,000 there last year for them against Port Vale. We'd easily outnumber Stevenage and Salford, and I'd imagine Northampton. If the likes of Barrow and Sutton sneaked in then I think we'd massively outnumber them too. Barrow might be a bit of a surprise, as it's that small town mentality where everyone and their mum would go.

I don't think we'd outnumber Northampton it's only 67 miles from Northampton to Wembley, I think our problem that other town's don't have is Stockport is full of United and City fans and Wembley is no big deal for a lot of people in the town, for the likes of Carlisle, Stevenage and Mansfield it's probably massive.

I suspect a lot, if not most, of those Man U and City fans in Stockport probably only watch their darlings on telly, so a real-life trip to Wembley might appeal to them, especially if they've got kids.

Not due to Salford fans...Theyve got none! I'll have you know that between Salford and Fylde they took over 8k between them to Wembley, 4 years ago for a National League Play Off Final. Full details here, including many players(and manager) with County connections.... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_National_League_play-off_FinalIf it weren't for the lack of a goalkeeper, you could make a decent side out of the ex/future County players who played

Wembley was a bit rubbish last time atmosphere wise, surrounded by daytrippers who wouldn't sing, needs to be a way of getting the singers together somehow.

The best atmosphere at wembley was the vale game with the long rendition of danny bergara,s blue and white army. Think it was the lack of day trippers helping this and not because of em. Its not a competition anyway of which team brings the most and i,d be quite happy sitting with those who attend County games in a normal season only without any day tripper being present. Its not as if they,ll get the bug or want to get it and will be back come august.

always get the impression that a fair few 'daytrippers' are friends/relatives of people who go regularly, and not even necessarily particularly into football, and primarily there in solidarity with their friend/relative, rather than any great love for County. Suspect this would be even more pronounced this time with the growing following we seem to have of younger teenagers coming to EP on their own, but whose parents might not be happy about them heading to London unsupervised.

It'd be better if the play off finals were at Villa Park or Hillsborough. I know that's not the dream for players (and we could conceivably be playing in the league at Hillsborough next season) and it'll never happen but a sold out proper ground like that would be so much better than a half full Wembley.

Assuming it would be a sell out, you could probably knock a good 25% of the crowd off it it wasn't at Wembley. So for a County v Salford, you might not get the day trippers, but would still end up in a half full Villa Park (would probably have the Wembley trip over that).

But the cost/ease would be in our favour. Sheffield is an hour away and £15 on the train/coach. I bet Wembley is £50 minimum on a coach plus 5 hours each way. Unless we played someone like Harrogate, I’m pretty confident either Villa Park or Hillsborough would be very to full, if not sold out, if we played in a play off final there. Against someone like Bradford or Carlisle I’d almost guarantee it. They’d both easily do 20k tickets.

This ☝ 100% What an effort it was for 2 teams from the North West to treck down to Wembley. Would have much preferred it to be at anfield old Trafford etihad or even bolton!

Without looking at the stats of players, if we played northampton in the final i,d imagine that there will be players not making a wembley debut from both sides who might actually have never played at old trafford.

Same with the trophy and the NL play offs final. One season they,ll get something like carlisle v barrow in a final or the trophy where scarborough play gateshead with some stupid KO time where the option of train travel is not on as you can only do the journey one way. Been to wembley loads of times and only my first ever visit and the first time seeing County there are only really memorable occasions. Having done it the place is just an expensive ball ache for me.
