If that’s true that’s an absolute disgrace. People don’t like speaking up about the current ownership due to success but they’ve been here 5 minutes and they’re happy to try and write one of our greatest players and managers out of our history. He’s given over 25 years to County. The previous City fan that now owns this club has been here since 2020. Yes he’s ploughed lots of money in and provided almost immediate success but you don’t disrespect service like that unless you have no idea of what that service meant. Apologies for the rant but that’s made my blood boil. I really hope it isn’t true. I remember there was furore over the removal of shirts from the museum, there were quickly formed assumptions that this was a snub for Jim but turned out to be nothing of the sort. As in all walks of working life there’s bound to be some awkwardness from all sides when it comes to returning to an employer who has sacked you, it’s an emotive subject but it feels like people are just waiting to dive in and slag the club off on the basis of a rumour because it reinforces a pre conceived idea. If this turns out to be true, it’s poor indeed, but I tend to believe Liam Richardson.

Bizarre the dislike for Jim as an utter club legend from a minority. It’s f*cking ridiculous. I hope he decides to have another proper crack again with someone like Halifax or even Oldham. If he doesn’t, it takes nothing away from what he has done for us over 25 years as well as being treated badly a few times too. I'd like to see the Venn diagram of people who dislike Gannon and people who support some of the sectarian shit coming out of the Cheadle End yesterday. Very obviously it's not everyone who has a disliking for him, but I'd bet good money there's a large overlap. I doubt whether 95% of the people singing that shit on Saturday would have the faintest idea of why Jim would be referenced there. It’s probably 30 16 year olds following one sad middle aged delusional fan who thinks we in Stockport should have some heartfelt allegiance with a club in Glasgow because they think bigotry and sectarianism is worth prolonging… just embarrassing. Why some naive kids in Stockport should think we might want to drag the rest of the world back from moving on is just a bit odd. I cringe with embarrassment every time I see a poster on here claiming we have an affiliation with Rangers. Nearly as bad as claiming every Crewe fan is a paedophile.

If not, it seems a bit disingenuous to use an image that he's front and centre of. Disingenuous, this iteration of Stockport County? Who'd have thought it. Too busy chasing the Bramhall pound to give a f*ck. They'll monetise our loyalty at the drop of a hat though. You’re quick to take sides despite it already being said elsewhere that Jim is on the invite list. And I’ve certainly no issue with the club trying to build the fanbase. Similar comment was made on here several months ago about long standing fans feeling left out, my response now as it was then is I don’t subscribe to that at all. Difference is that a few years ago there were many less of us so we all felt part of a small family, that family has now got bigger, so maybe we now feel a little more disconnected from the head of the family but it doesn’t mean we aren’t still a valued part of it.

Jim was at Oldham on Saturday. Presented without comment. Part of me thinks he might be done with managing now after being shafted along the way but part of me thinks he’s going to get shot at somewhere & make a bloody good go of it. Oldham would be ideal for him, especially under the new ownership.

The only good fit for Jim was County, always wish him well though!

I’m very much in favour of growing the fanbase. Doing so means we’ll all have a smaller slice of a larger pie and I’m okay with that. There’s a way to achieve it though. Ironically JG was always big on this point. You can do X, Y and Z to attract new people, and that fine, but it should never come at the cost of the fans we’ve already got. They’re the ones who have kept the club alive and they are at the heart of its future too. I know some of the lads in the Pop Side are feeling unloved at the moment. I know a lot of the people around my traditional seat in the Cheadle End feel the same way too. Growing pains are to be expected, but they’ve got to be managed correctly. Whether the club has or hasn’t invited JG to an event is a matter for them. If Liam Richardson says he’s been invited, fair enough. I’ve no reason to think Liam isn’t being honest. It’s more a broader point about the club we’re becoming. I think they’re trying to do broadly the right things, but not necessarily in the right way at the moment.

A combination of the stewarding, new families moaning about people singing certain songs (I don’t mean anything offensive, but for example Clear Blue Skies - it has a swear-word in it); being told to sit down (rightly or wrongly, that’s what the back of the Pop side has been about for years) and in the CE a much more toxic atmosphere than it used to be.

Some food for thought from the greatest living legend that we have. James Gannon is pure class. Highly recommend reading the whole thread. Is there any way to tweet Gannon and ask him the names of the managers he thinks could do with support?

Never heard this before, sounds abit self-entitled. Unloved? Do you want a hug as you enter the ground? Had same ST in main stand for the last 6-7 seasons,my only gripe with us getting better recently is the main stand is sold out and I can't stretch out like I used to, new ST holder next to me always has his arms folded during game
