Pissing about with the St. Georges cross on the England shirt now in what Nike calls 'a playful update'. It's our national flag, it doesn't need a playful update, leave it alone. Are they doing this for any other nations in the tournament? I don't understand why they have done this. Presumably the FA have signed this off which puts them in an awkward position. The price concerns me more- £85 for the "stadium" version or £125, and the kids versions aren't much cheaper. Just don't buy it.Its a rip off. Imagine giving a f*ck? England shirts for decades have had a “playful interpretation” of the St George Cross. Literally a 5-second Google shows up 20 years’ worth of the England flag in all sorts of different colours on the England shirt. Suddenly because we’re told to be outraged, everybody pretends to be outraged. f*ck off and grow up. It’s a shirt. (Should say this was meant as a response to the previous poster, not Orkney)

Nobody knows what woke virtue is being signalled but rest assured it's definitely one of them!

There’s just too many woke flags, now we can have one United Flag of Conglomerated Wokery, it’ll be much simpler for the professionally offended snowflakes

Seems like anything with parallel lines of more than two colours, appearing in the order in which they appear in the colour spectrum, counts as ‘woke’ now It’s only a matter of time before they boycott MS Office over that hexagonal colours grid

(Should say this was meant as a response to the previous poster, not Orkney) If your comment is directed at me then I've already stated that I don't like it simply because I think it just looks shit rather than being outraged by it having some seminal meaning like some in the media are implying. I'm simply a traditionalist, I like my national flag to be displayed in it's pure form. You're right though I don't particularly give a f*ck, I don't buy County replica kits so I'm hardly likely to spend £120 on an England shirt with a weird coloured cross on the collar. If getting to see England win a major tournament in my lifetime meant them playing in a brown kit with purple spots on I'd take it!

Really could not give a toss about anything to do with the national team from shirts to winning tournaments. Its all the overblown talk about anything england do that you just cannot avoid no matter how you might try.

It turns out the colours aren’t purple, blue and red; they’re navy blue, sky blue and scarlet. The colours of our proud British Armed Forces. Not only does it allow you to demonstrate your patriotism, but it’s one in the eye for those unelected foreign bureaucrats at FIFA with their rules and regulations about political symbols. Ready!!! Salute the flag!!! God save the King!!! (Just don’t ask anyone in the government why Help for Heroes even has to be a thing…)

If they tried that in the states their factory would get burned to the ground Nor sure the Yanks are *that* f*cking stupid. Fez can comment... Ha! Well, plenty are. Usually not those who pay attention to association football, though. I don't remember the US national teams bearing a stars and stripes motif in the same way (which is odd, considering that, for example) every team in the NFL has a small flag decal on its helmets). The crest is a nod to the flag and that's it, as far as I recall. Except for sometimes incorporating the stars and / or stripes theme into the kit itself; sometimes in hideous fashion. But then the population at large is known to wear the flag as bandanas, shorts, speedos, underwear, T-shirts, etc, so there's be little room for complaint. However, at any hint of, for example, a rainbow interpretation, then the usual suspects are climbing out of their prams; notwithstanding the hypocrisy of a number of them also waving the flag of the Confederacy; or the blue & black cop-supporting version or Tr*mp desecrations, as others here have shown.

Completely unplanned but I've just found out I'm going to be in Berlin on the same night as the Berlin 1/4 final.
Is there any way I can get 2 ligit tickets for just this game in advance?
I've not even worked out who might be involved in this game yet but I'd love to go no matter who might be playing in it.
Any pointers? For the record, I'm booked in for the night at one of Berlin's top City centre hotels.

Looks like you’d be paying EUR100+, as presumably “Fans First” tickets are for people already registered? Not necessarily an unreasonable investment for a special event like that (speaking as someone who spent a good few weeks’ beer money on a ticket to the final Cup Winners’ Cup Final…)
