Hola Hatters! I feel like a pleb from Burnley trying to order bangers and mash in Barcelona, but that genuinely is about the limit of my Spanish knowledge, although I thought I should try and make a little bit of effort ahead of County’s friendly in Murcia later today. I feel like an even bigger pleb asking Ian Brown, Nick Lee and Jonathan Baker for their score predictions. A pre-season friendly… against a League One team… at a training centre… in the Spanish sun… that’s about as easy to predict as the date of the next asteroid hitting us. It could be today, who knows. If this is the end of the world as we know it, at least you can spend your final hours enjoying some of Ian’s County memories, Nick’s thoughts on straw donkeys, and Jonathan’s impressive music knowledge. You can also sit back and enjoy the second instalment of “Postcards from Pinatar” by Hannah Brown. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/lincoln-v-county

Back in February, Crawley picked up just 1 point from a possible 18 (including a 2-1 defeat at EP), finishing the month in the bottom two. But they beat relegation rivals Harrogate and Rochdale in March, before winning at Hartlepool in April. Taking maximum points against the shite around them just about kept them up, but will there be enough crap at the bottom of League Two for Crawley to finish above this season? Sky Bet don’t think so; they’re joint favourites with Harrogate for the drop. Our regular Crawley correspondent Dan Jones isn’t too confident either, with his club doing their summer shopping in “a charity shop”. (I won’t rub it in about the Nick Powell we’ve just picked up in Selfridges.) And with their weird crypto owners still struggling to win over the locals, Crawley could be in a spot of bother. This season will be their 13th in the Football League; that could prove unlucky for some in West Sussex. As well as a load of stuff on Crawley, we’ve got Hannah Brown joining us once again today with the third instalment of “Postcards from Pinatar”. It’s been a really popular feature on the website this week, so a big thank you to Hannah for sharing her Spanish tales with us. She’s flying back home today (on the same flight as the players) but I’m sure we can scrape enough money together for a new pen and a diary to keep Hannah on board for more of her adventures this season, even if Morecambe and Milton Keynes might not be quite as appealing as Murcia. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/doncaster-wimbledon-colchester-crewe-b04

Not many responses to these articles, but I'm enjoying reading these previews from fans of other clubs... Great set of questions too

This Spanish stuff has been rather fun over the last few days, hasn’t it? We’ve seen Nick Lee insult an entire country by denigrating paella and Mikel Arteta, Jonathan Baker displaying a disturbingly detailed level of knowledge on Spanish music, and Hannah Brown doing a wonderful job reporting on everything that’s been happening in Murcia, from Lincoln players running away from knocked-on doors in the hotel to County fans running away from their bill in a restaurant. However, with all roads now leading to Alty next weekend, and more importantly, the subsequent battle with fellow promotion-favourites Gillingham on the opening day just three weeks after that, it’s time to wrap up our Spanish coverage today. Closing ceremony duties are performed by Tommy Wright and Dave Thompson, an Imp and a Hatter who were both at the Pinatar Arena on Friday. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/lincoln-1-county-1

suedehead wasn't Ormson in nets for the 4-0 defeat at Borehamwood when Alex Gorst was on the bench (not a name I would have remembered in the slightest). I only remember them tearing us apart once and it was a game Ben was unavailable for. Unless I've misunderstood the trivia question.

On keeper shirts I did like the silver TFG that we had when we had Ola Tidman.

It was basically meant to be all the sub keepers we’ve had since Ben has been at the club, rather than sub keepers specifically when Ben has played.

Not many responses to these articles, but I'm enjoying reading these previews from fans of other clubs... Great set of questions too The questions are brilliant aren't they! I think my favourite one is 'Notts County; Newport County; Stockport County: Snog; Marry; Avoid?'. I'm also liking the healthily continuing universal loathing for the abomination that is Milton Keynes Dons.

Sad that the chippy has gone used to always nip in there after the game.
