As I’m sure you’ve already heard, County fan Ian Duncan sadly passed away recently. I wanted to write a tribute to Ian, which I’d like to share with you today. My thanks to Steve Bellis, Faye Little, Lee Townley and Pete Townley for their contributions. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/a-tribute-to-ian-duncan

Ian Brown, Jonathan Baker and Oliver Brookland are on preview duty for us today, as County look to avoid an Aldershot FA Cup banana skin (which Swindon well and truly slipped on in round one) and make it safely through to the third round. Don’t forget the draw takes place before kick-off today, so we’ll know whether the prize is a trip to Maidstone or Man United before County take to the field in Hampshire. It’s on ITV at around 12.55pm before the live game between Eastleigh and Reading. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/aldershot-v-county

Aldershot (for 3 minutes) and County (for 21) were both into round three of the FA Cup at the weekend but neither side could hold on to their lead which means we’ll have to do it all over again next week for the chance to have a crack at Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion. Oliver Brookland and Simon Holt take a look back at Sunday’s four-goal encounter at the Recreation Ground. It’s a bumper edition of The Scarf My Father Wore for you to enjoy today, as we’re also joined by Alex Lipniski, Will Howells and Ed Powell, sharing their Aldershot adventures with us. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/aldershot-2-county-2

It was only five days ago we published a tribute to Ian Duncan, in memory of a much-loved County fan who’d recently passed away. Sadly, we’re doing the same today. Robert McNally – a County fan from Wolverhampton who many of you will recognise – shares this beautiful piece of writing with us, following the tragic death of Lisa Braithwaite. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/a-tribute-to-lisa-braithwaite

Two lovely tributes to Ian & Lisa there Des. Two more of the family who will be sadly missed but remembered at the annual Memorial day. May both Ian and Lisa be Resting in Peace.

I don’t think many of the 588 travelling Hatters will want to relive Wednesday night (it was cold and we were crap) but for any masochists or County fans who decided to spend their evening doing something warmer like checking into the Ice Hotel in Sweden, we’ve roped in Simon George to reflect on our midweek trip to the DW. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/wigan-2-county-0

Ian Brown and Jonathan Baker offer their pre-match thoughts today, as County head to Morecambe’s new ground for only the second time (same as Wigan on Wednesday night). On our second trip to Wigan’s new place, we conceded the same number of goals as we did on our first visit; let’s hope that pattern isn’t repeated at Morecambe as we’ll be in for a bloody long afternoon if that happens… thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/morecambe-v-county

I don’t even know where to begin with Morecambe yesterday. I’m still trying to get warm. With the weather and the trains causing havoc, hopefully everyone made it back to Stockport in one piece. We’ll pick the bones out of a silly December trip to the seaside over the next couple of days, although I have included some photos today for you. The main purpose of Sunday’s edition is to ask you for a favour. Please take the time to read the following article – and hopefully click the button once you have! thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/the-scarf-my-father-wore-is-a-labour

Damon Carroll, Gareth Eccleston and yours truly have just about dried off from Saturday afternoon to put pen to paper on three tales from the seaside. We’ve also got John K Bilsbury with another of his excellent match reports, and a big thank you to Mark Swindlehurst for joining us as well, whose voice you will have heard on Saturday as the stadium announcer at the Mazuma Mobile. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/a-tool-throwing-dog-biscuits-in-a
