Stop it...I was supposed to be getting this work stuff done 🤣 Reading the article, or trying one of the suggestions off it?!

Earlier this month, we published a feature on sandwiches, which was the first in a new series where I speak to other people who run their own Substack newsletters and websites. I thought we’d have another one this weekend, so today we’re joined by Lucy Sweet who runs The Lucyverse – an amusing weekly write-up of anything Lucy chooses to review. So far in January, she’s already reviewed a Cliff Richard calendar, a vegan Fray Bentos pie in a tin and a blanket that looks like a giant tortilla. It’s very random, and very entertaining. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/a-stack-of-questions-on-random-reviews

This time last week I was on my way to Chorley for the first part of a new series on the website. Basically, I’ve come up with an A-Z list (along with the help of a number of readers and subscribers) of various things you’d expect to encounter on a typical away day. And I’m going to visit loads of football grounds, take photos of pies and pints, and give you my verdict. Sounds boring on paper but it should keep some of you entertained hopefully. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/the-a-z-groundhopper-goes-to-chorley

Harrogate Town are the visitors to Edgeley Park on Saturday. They’ve only been to SK3 on six previous occasions, the first of which was on Saturday 26 April 2014 – the final day of our first season in the sixth tier. I wrote a big feature on the game from the press box that day, which I thought I’d share with you today as part of our build-up to this weekend’s clash with the Sulphurites. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/i-watched-countys-first-ever-home

We’ve got an exclusive extract from a new book on Leyton Orient for you to enjoy today, written by Gareth Platt. Ever-growing disillusionment with the Premier League and modern football saw Gareth take up the offer of a ‘season ticket holiday’ from his beloved Arsenal and instead try to go to every single Leyton Orient league match in the 2021-22 season. This book details his season-long adventure around the far-flung and exotic outposts of League Two accompanied by his equally football-obsessed wife Kay. When it was all over would he go back, or had “little” Leyton Orient truly captured his soul? thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/the-arsenal-fan-who-fell-in-love

Well, the transfer window is now closed. County seem to have had a very decent January, with some strong acquisitions in key areas. But what about the rest of League Two? I’ve had a chat with a number of different fans about their business this month, and their hopes for the rest of the campaign. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/deadline-day-dissected
