Would be interesting to read an interview with your subscriber Peter Snape.

With no trains running on Boxing Day, we’ve only got two away day tales from Barrow, rather than our usual three. We’ve pulled out all the stops to bring you two fantastic contributors, though. One drinks Unicorn for breakfast; the other eats chocolate. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I give you Simon George and Paul Wright. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/trapping-off-with-a-lovely-geordie

Walsall haven’t been anywhere near the play-offs since their last appearance in 2015-16, when they lost 6-1 to Barnsley on aggregate. They were relegated to League Two three years later, and have spent the last four seasons at this level, finishing 12th, 19th, 16th and 16th. The Saddlers didn’t look like they’d be extending their season this time around, but five wins from their last six – including Notts County, Crewe and Wrexham – has taken them to within three points of the top seven. This is yet another bloody tricky assignment for County tomorrow. Ahead of the game, we’ve had a cracking chat with Roberto Petrucco (his mum’s from Walsall, his dad’s from Birmingham, but his grandparents were born in Italy before moving over here!) from the Yellow Ribbon Podcast. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/we-lost-the-first-leg-3-0-and-after

I’ve spoken to not one, but two Notts County fans this week as well. Our last meeting only took place 28 days ago, but there’s been loads to digest since then, with Luke Williams leaving for Swansea, and Stuart Maynard stepping up from Wealdstone. And there’s also the small matter of that 5-5 draw they had at Grimsby last Saturday. Richard Ogando from NCS News and Rob Davies from Gerrit Forward share their thoughts. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/life-after-luke-with-a-couple-of

If you’ve been reading The Scarf My Father Wore from the start, you might be experiencing a touch of deja vu this morning. County’s away game on the third weekend of January was postponed yesterday, which is exactly what happened this time last year. 52 weeks ago, County’s game at Crewe was called off, and I had a chat with a number of Hatters who went in search of their Saturday football fix elsewhere. Well, I’ve done exactly the same today. Harry Milner, Ian Halford, Ollie Bielecki, Jamie Bramley, Matt Stambach, Dave Sedge, ekvedrek and Danny Kay share their Saturday stories, after County’s game at Meadow Lane was postponed. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/from-stoke-to-stockport-town-a-number
