Harrogate then… fancy Tanto to get his first County goal off the bench. Because we’ll be 2-0 up after an hour when Paddy gets a well deserved rest. Clean sheet for the GOAT as he breaks the record. Lovely stuff.

Yeah, that’s quite common, sure we’ve had a similar thing before. But it’ll be a blanket thing based on postcodes or something, as Stranded said. There’s zero chance they’re going through a list of names and cross checking them between clubs. So your ok With County fans entering restricted areas at away games , putting peoples safety at Risk ? What an odd thing to say. It’s a free country. Any Stockport County fan in my opinion has the right to buy a ticket in any home end they choose and any fan of another team has the right to buy a ticket in our end imo. There’s nothing to stop it, people have to right to freely purchase something that’s on the open market. However, if you do end up in a home end you have to shut your mouth and not cheer for your team. You shouldn’t just assume that they are putting peoples safety at risk by doing so.

Best not celebrate a Stockport goal Or jump up & down when orient score . Yeah i can really see County fan/s doing that . Still back to The Harrogate thread 👍

I was of the impression that sitting on your hands in the home end was something that most football fans experience at one point or another?

In the incident you quote it would be the Os fans who would be likely to cause any safety issues. Also, the return/cancellation of any tickets would likely have been based on the postcodes of the purchasers, not a foolproof system by any means but likely to have captured many of those buying in the home end. Fully agreed , I Called a few of the Idiots out after they bragged about doing so. Someone on Solihulls MB had read old MB & contacted moors who contacted Police , Imagine it kicked off & some poor kid gets trampled on & ends up In A&E all because some Selfish Pr!@k couldnt get an away ticket. Orient could've been fined, points deduction all because some fools wanted to see a match ! I hate going in the wrong end at a football game but on the very rare occasion I’ve done it I’ve kept quiet. It’s not hard if you’re not an idiot.

Personally I’m planning a big weekend down in London that weekend so I’m going to that match whichever end I’m in. I hope dearly it’s the County end because it’s no fun being in the home end I can tell you. I really don’t think it’s the big crime you seem to think it is though

This is such an interesting topic (home vs away fans) for me (a Yank). When I go to sporting events I love sitting next to a supporter of the other team. I can get info on who to watch on their team, talk trash (friendly) and make bets (we score, beers on you, you score I buy etc). Granted some places (Philly fans suck, tribal mouthy assholes but support their team(s)). In Denver, Broncos fans HATE the Raiders (we'd go 2-14 as long as the 2 wins are against the raiders) in NFL. I love when Raiders fans are nearby and will go so far as to tell really abusive Broncos fans to mellow out (alcohol almost always a factor lol). Granted, English footie clubs are often much more local but it is wild to me that you have to segregate fans, have them leave from separate exits, and even have different pubs to go to. One time over the pond a friend forbid me from going into pubs in Glasgow without him, in case I walked into a Rangers pub wearing Celtic gear (family is Irish). I figure I could get along with anyone and have fun, he most vehemently disagreed. Is it really that serious to sit with opposing fans? I actually aim to do so at times, then again, the worst thing that has happened doing so was maybe some pushing and shoving (handbags? What's the worst you all have experienced? Oh, 3-0 County. Madden, Wooten and the new striker in relief. Hinch goes into the books as the GOAT, maybe, last time I was over we had a guy named Hennessy on a bit of a streak that was pretty good Cheers, Manowarfan1

Philly fans suck, tribal mouthy assholes but support their team(s). Disagree. Philly sports fans are knowledgeable and create a great atmosphere. They have a unique type of humour, but they're not nearly as aggressive as people say. Throw snowballs at Santa ONE TIME and the media have created a caricature that doesn't really exist.

Done it a couple of times and its fine on your own but i doubt it would be easy if you had someone with you. The best bet is going into the main stand and usually its similar to ours with the less noisy and less aggressive home fans there. I am old enough to remember grounds that were not segregated with far more flashpoints than you get now with little incidents. Why fans cannot get on is beyond me as they really have more in common than not. Again its luck and geography why we support one club and if we were born and lived in devon we,d have other colours around our necks on matchdays.

I agree, Timber. I've been to games with mates who supported the opposing team a few times. Surely most fans have friends and family who support other clubs and are able to spend time with them without problems?

In games where we’ve had large numbers of away fans in home areas all the City games went off without trouble in the ground as far as I saw, same with Forest when they came at the end of a season when they were getting promoted, Sunderland less so.

Surely most fans have friends and family who support other clubs and are able to spend time with them without problems? As a County fan exiled in the south since childhood I have friends at most London clubs. Have had half time cross barrier chats at a few games and once stewards realise I’m speaking to a mate they let me get on. I do think that’s different to general fan mingling though. I didn’t generally enjoy our unsegregated games during our time in non league and there’s something about being in an away end with everyone pulling in the same direction rather than being dotted around the ground.

I remember Leeds in 2009/10, they scored quite early on and all over the Cheadle End heads popped up looking for any Leeds fans celebrating. Don't think there were any, certainly nothing major anyway. Oldham in 2008 was another where away fans in the Cheadle End didn't go down well.

The onus is absolutely on the fan/fans in the wrong end to be respectful and not draw attention to themselves to avoid trouble. Be respectful and recognise you shouldn’t be there. The only exception (in terms of not drawing attention to yourself) would be Coronation Street actors departing the Cheadle End in front of cameras as we stick a third past City.
