No idea if its true but considering what happened between naples and frankfurt I wouldn't put it passed them. He had a €10,000 bounty on his head and was all over social media and all round Italy news

What idiot and what banner?
I'm surprised by the lack of enthusiasm about us winning what on paper was the toughest match of the qualifying group.
Because people prefer to criticise and get much more enjoyment out of that, sadly. Thought we were brilliant 1st half. Should have been 3 really and then its game over. The Italians came out 2nd half and had a good go, as you'd expect them at home. Not won there since 1961 so a great result (just a shame it wasnt the same scoreline in the Euros final). They couldnt get close to Bellingham 1st half. He will be so important to the squad in the next 10 years. Rice was immense. Phillips covered the whole pitch which is pretty good going considering his lack of game time at City. Kane lead the line well and I thought Stones at CB was strong and solid. No doubt we were hanging on at the end, especially when we went down to 10 men which the ref couldnt wait to do but all in all a fantastic win and a good start to the campaign! Agree, it was a very good win. No doubt about that. The 1st half performance was excellent. Grealish should've wrapped things up to make it three. Not sure that people are criticising as such. More a case of taking the p*ss out of some of the nonsense on display, particularly Grealish and his theatricals. Kane also did a neat triple roll near the end. But I guess he's excused. Getting a win on Italian soil in a competitive game. That's fantastic. And that 1st half display was great. But do we really need all the rolling about? It's not even very good rolling about.

Grealish *i think* is the most fouled player in the PL. He gets emptied left, right, centre and gets very little protection from referees in football. I can recall 2 incidents by Kane where he rolled back on to the pitch to ensure the ref had to stop play and disrupt the Italians, not a bad move IMHO.

Penalty for England? Not a chance for me. Looks like a Kane push first. Watching on C4. Jack Grealish must have something over Dion Dublin. The love in has been ridiculous all game but describing Grealish's miss at the end of the first half as difficult was laughable. I've just watched the highlights and while I do think it was a pen I'm in agreement with you on the Grealish miss. Supposedly one of the best players in the world has to do better there - I'd be disappointed if one of ours missed that.

Surely if he's the most fouled then he is getting protection from referees. For each of those fouls a referee has given him a free kick.

It was some top sh*thousery that, especially the one from the corner when the ball hit him in the stomach! Saying that, I'd be seething if an opposition player did it at EP.

Don't dispute that it was a good first half and a very good win. Still can't see a penalty though. And Grealish would be a better player stood up. He was stood up when he missed the open goal! Or the “very difficult chance” as Mr Dublin described it?!
