I was brought up in an inconsequential dormitory suburb in Kent, not far from Welling United (National League South). So I used to sometimes watch them as 'my non-league team', and also more recently on occasional visits. I'm happy that as of this season I can have again have them as my only secondary non-league side.
These days, with an ocean in between, I can never watch a County game; so I follow the local USL team, Indy Eleven. Aside from that, we're spoiled with other sports, so now and then we attend the Colts, the Pacers and the Minor League baseball team.

Bit of a continuation from Why County. Be interested to know if any exiles watch another team if they cannot make a County game. If so who. Do not class myself as an exile and never have, but apart from a few pools games when we are playing down south its a case of no County no football now for me. Been to watch AFC Wimbledon a few times but not since they moved to their new ground (apart from our visit this season of course). Sutton are a team I’ve been to watch a few times too. That’s about it really. I won’t go and watch someone if it clashes with County, even when my only option was county player/world commentary.

My perspective will be a lot different as I am not an exile but a Yank who stumbled upon County after first being a Prem fan, it's all we could really get over here in the 90's (Newcastle Man U in FA Cup was the first match I saw, naturally I immediately bonded with NUFC in their stripes with the Newcastle brewery sponsor.) I was a season ticket holder for years for Colorado Rapids in MLS ( only a 1 hour drive when they played at the Denver Broncos NFL stadium). Now County comes first but I still check on the others. I would not to opposed to going to other clubs to watch a match next time over, but more concerned with seeing as much of SCFC as I can in a compressed time.
I remember prior to my first trip to UK I emailed a few clubs that were near places I was going to be, and Southampton and Preston responded and seemed willing to help a lost Yank out with getting tix, getting around, meeting supporters etc.
That said, nothing they could've come up with would ever top the work that Steve Bradbury and others did to make my County trip amazing, so County will always be first and foremost.

Am stuck in the middle of Welling and Charlton. Neither really interest me altho I did attend the first few games when the Valley reopened way back then. Purely from a St Pauli vibe I went to the Old Spotted dog ground for a bit of Clapton ultra action. Not sure if they are the same now they lost their home though

In my gap year 71-2 I was assigned to a high school in Lorient and watched them a few times while only getting County results on Radio 2. I left Stockport in 1974 and moved south to teach near Worthing. I missed the atmosphere of a Saturday on the terraces and started watching Brighton with work colleagues. In 76 I moved to Andover after getting married. 5 years later I started watching Southampton who were flying in the first division with 5 England captain in the same team1. Shilton, Mills ,Ball. Channon and Keegan.
During all these years I still watched County when I could - usually in places like Bournemouth, Watford, Palace (0-7) and Aldershot. I caught the odd home game which I don't think we ever won. In 83 I left England to work in Morocco, then Brunei and finally settled in Brisbane in 1989. My first County game for 21 years was the 4-3 v Bolton in October 2000. I was treated superbly by the club thanks to Andy Mitchelson and Steve Bellis and made to feel most welcome. My next games were Bristol Rovers and Leeds in Dec 2008. The Bristol Rovers game, Craig Davies hattrick, is the last time I saw County win!!
I returned to UK late in 2011 and saw us in NL- no victories in 5 games I attended I thinkl I believe the 0-2 with Hyde is the last County game I saw in 2012.
I spent 6 years near Torquay 2012-2018 but did not see a single game anywhere apart from the Hyde one- not even at Torquay.
Live streaming for me is like a lottery win!!

But then I never watch any football in the telly other than County, don’t like the sport really I've heard of players who don't like football, it's just a job; never heard of fans disliking it though! I know where he is coming from. If County ceased to exist i,d be then stuck to a handful of games watching pools a season. If they joined us then that would be it watching live or on the box. Never watch the FA Cup final now, pick and choose World and European Cup ones or england with the sound off. Do the rare RL game but apart from all that my interest in sport is zero apart from cricket Last time i watched the stuff like the Olympics it was in black and white.

I definitely think it’s harder to get in games as a neutral than it used to be. I can remember going to Fratton Park and the Dell a few times in the 90s to watch a game when we were down that way visiting my grandma, just to get out the house. But more recently my dad and I weren’t allowed in to Kenilworth Road because we weren’t local. This was back when they were non-league too, so it was hardly sold out. It was what it was, but we didn’t go again!

As for just rolling up to games nowadays i got to agree though. Once you could just roll up to even old trafford and pay at the gate. Do not know but imagine even the modern version of that, obtaining tickets on a matchday from a ticket office may be a thing of the past also.

I live a few miles outside Cambridge and usually go to a few games at Cambridge United each season. Nothing like watching County of course, but generally I enjoy a Saturday afternoon watching football with the Amber Army when I go there.
This year was interesting, in that I went to the Ipswich derby game at the last minute, but was only able to buy a ticket as I already had an account with the club website, they had banned sales to newly registered accounts to stop Ipswich fans getting in the home areas of the ground. However, when they played Curzon Ashton in the FA Cup replay, I was able to buy a ticket for the away end through my account (that was a cracking atmosphere in the away end by the way, I was very impressed with the Curzon support on a Tuesday night).

One of the highlights watching County during lockdown, was the video shown on the stream from fans wishing County good luck from all over the world. It was quite emotional at the time.

Live football here on Sunday-Parish cup where Sanday take on Deerness. My first live match since County in September. Hope there's not as many broken limbs as in the last match here-kept the air ambulance very busy that day. Update- very entertaining match. Sanday moved the ball well on the floor, just as well as match played in 25 knot winds and mist! Sanday won 5-1!! One dislocated shoulder and one broken nose. Wore my County scarf too-Sanday colours are blue and black so it fitted in well. Funnily enough Deerness kit was very similar to our Argentina kit.

My travels as a contractor in the aircraft industry are fairly well documented at various points on Yellow Board but no matter where those travels took me, I always tried to watch a local match be that in the UK or abroad. I've watched games in Northern Ireland during my 1st ever out of area contract and I watched games in Malta in what could well prove to be my last ever contract. Of course some contacts only lasted a couple of weeks but many did last much longer most notably at SAS in Oslo in 1997/98 and Schreiner in Maastricht in 2004. I also worked on 13 occasions for KLM at Schiphol and 3 times at Air Berlin in Munich. During these lengthy or frequent contracts, I invariably formed an an allegiance with a club in that country. In The Netherlands it was Fortuna Sittard and I watched them home and away on many occasions and to this day, I have them as one of my starred teams on Flashscore. I watched their hated rivals, Roda JC on many occasions too during my time in The Netherlands. Other clubs I've watched regularly include Vålerenga in Oslo and 1860 Munich when in that city. Since moving to Spain full time 5 years ago, I initially formed an allegiance to Lorca Football Club who played great football on a real grass pitch in Countyesque blue and white stripes. They went bust 2 seasons back so I did the possibly unthinkable thing if I still lived in England and started to watch their rivals, Lorca Deportiva. Same kit, same stadium. The footie ain't great at Spanish level 5 but I've only missed one home game all season as they finished 2nd in their league. They made very hard work of winning their play off semi final needing a 95th minute own goal and an extra time winner last night but I'm still unsure as to if they'll go up if they win the final.
