Calling Virgin can be traumatic. Tried to call a few weeks ago to get my mum's price down. Call handler was obviously in Asia and we could hardly understand her. Hung up in the end as no chance of haggling. On the other hand, previously I asked for retentions and spoke to a Scottish lady who gave us a decent price and free Netflix.

In life I suppose I'm a Victor Meldrew-lots of dislikes I don't like Brits using American English Mispronouncing of foreign names e.g. Ibiza Fizzy lager Or the pick and mix of which capital of a country that is pronounced as citezans of that country pronounce it because that country is more favoured to another.

Another reason I try to avoid calling them, I often find the line barely audible & you often get 'hello my name is Brian' in the thickest Indian accent going I've got no problem speaking to Sanjit in Bangalore, just don't pretend you're Brian from down the road! Had to call them a couple of years ago & got passed from department to department the first couple were clearly in Asia then bizarrely got put through to an American woman who I could barely hear eventually ended up getting put through to an Irish lady & actually let out a little cheer, she asked me why I was cheering & I told her that after being on the phone for a couple of hours to people who couldn't understand me & vice versa plus a line that was no louder than a whisper it was just sheer joy to finally end up talking to someone I could both hear & understand! She saw the funny side & sorted the problem in 2 minutes flat.

Can't get Virgin in these hills, so Sky is the only option sadly especially if you need to record stuff, out of contract in May but don't have a viable alternative really, took the Broadband away from them as luckily BeFibre arrived and we get 500Mb for 24.99 a month.

That's a good price are they reliable? I'm with plusnet and it's always going down, I complained and they sent me a new router which doesn't work and now they've increased the bill so I'm going to switch.

Really good so far, 2 outage windows for maintenance but with plenty notice and it was literally an hour in the middle of the night. Last offer was 900Mb for 29 99 but 500 is enough for us, price is fixed too til the end of the term.

Just had a look & looks a really good package fairly priced, no in term price rises, no set up fee, unfortunately not available in Offerton yet.

Edit... just looked no mid term price hikes either. 28 quid 500mb

They're FTTP fibre so it also means you get symmetrical upload/download speeds.

Round about the same price we were paying for Sky broadband (which we had endless issues with), very reliable and ten times faster. We chose the ‘guaranteed WiFi everywhere’ option for another £8, but with the initial offer price it’s still about the same as Sky. Would definitely recommend.

Fans of poorly supported away sides having to buy tickets before the game without a pay at the ticket office at least being available for them on the day of the game.

Not my biggest pet hate in football but one which bugs me. When a keeper is obviously time wasting by holding onto the ball for ages, then why do some fans start chanting the seconds far too fast? There's a bloody big scoreboard there to use as a guide to how long a second is!!

Basically any game like yesterday which shows if you have no real interest in either team its pointless paying good money to watch. Unless you are really lucky in your choice of game its not for neutrals nowadays.
